Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputies Acting Unprofessional

Look, while pretty much all of you know I have my differences with Sheriff Lewis and I've stated numerous times it's not that I dislike the man. We simply disagree on certain matters and I, (along with many others) do not feel he is the same person you elected years ago.

That's here nor there. What I'm about to tell is is why I have some issues with his leadership. Today, in court, Sheriff's Deputies were passing around a photo of Zoey McDuffy, the man recently murdered in Salisbury.

The photo was McDuffy dead in the front seat of his car with his hat still on his head. These Deputies were laughing and joking around about it and quite frankly it didn't sit well with many people in the court room. Yes, some were even able to see the photo of the man shot to death.

Come on Sheriff, this is not the kind of behavior I know you expect from your Staff. Nevertheless, the buck stops at your Office.

Aww, what's the matter? Don't like being called out for what you really are?

Like this and things like this hasn't happened in ALL departments all across this country.

Youtube is full of videos like this. Guess that's here-say to you and your kind too eh?

I would bet money Lewis gets replaced in the next election. Any takers?

1209 SHUT UP...how would you feel if that were your family member?? Bet it wouldn't be so funny then would it?? It unprofessional and ignorant behavior.

The only way to handle the day in, day out gore and violence is to laugh about it. Until you deal with it everyday of your life, you can't possibly understand.

Thats a shame but its no surprise. His name is Elmer Duffy and his family deserves more respect.

It is a symptom of the condition of the usual non professional LEO.
They exhibit daily the disregard for humanity they all seem to have these days.
You can't hardly blame the punk, other than if he had been there he would have been laughing right along with them....
How many people has he murdered?
How's that for here-say?

Once you start laughing at gore and violence, it's time to find another job.

so why didn't you contact lewis personally instead of making him look bad for what his deputies did. report it to lewis directly and let him take care of this. i'm sure he wouldn't approve of these actions. at least let him try to make it right. just sayin'

Sheriff Lewis refuses to take my calls. He's a big man, so to speak. He's responsible for his Staff's actions and now he'll have to deal with it. The LUXURY of keeping things quiet has expired. I'm not Press, he's no Sheriff. Wait until we expose the TRUE and REAL Sarah Foxwell story. As I said, time has expired.

LMFAO

Daily GORE and violence? Where? On your tv screen?

You think laughing about it is the way to deal with it?

A) You must be young, or worse B) You are older with experience and you actually believe that.

If you're young, some therapy, training and education may still be able to help you.

If you're B, you definitely need all three above but also re-evaluated if you're fit to be a LEO.

Wow. Some major red flags in your statement.

You are correct.it is how emergency personnel handle the stress to a point.there is a time and place for things and in a court room in front of everybody and anyone isn't the place.a family member could've been there.....besides why would you discuss details and show pictures to people that aren't involved in the case.I was at court room number 1 this morning waiting to see judge Scott Davis when a sheriffs deputy started showing this Xerox copy of the deceased to officers that clearly had no involvement in the case.and yes I could see the deceased man clear as day while they mocked how he was still in the vehicle with his hat on.among other comments said.I surely hope if my life ends like this I won't be the butt of jokes and gossip from the people who are supposed to be catching the perpetrator and being compassionate to my family.

Anonymous said...

OK now lets say it was a cop that was killed and some gang bangers where showing off copies of it and making tastless jokes about it what would the cops think? It's sad to see this is what cops have turned into.

Its a disgusting and outrageous statement to say "thats how we deal with the daily gore and violence". A few issues I have with that is 1)The MAJORITY, the GREAT majority, of a cop's time is spent at radar stops and patrolling for TRAFFIC issues. This ain't the Bronx or south Philly. The "daily gore" is total bullshit and I'm calling it just that. 2)if it was MY family member and I saw them doing that in court (how did they know there weren't any family members watching them in court??) there would be at least ONE cop taking an ass-whipping outside (before ten other cops had to beat me half to death after I was subdued and in hancuffs) 3) if, as a cop, you are so callous as to LAUGH at a dead citizen, its' time to go back to being a security guard at Trimpers 4)Judge Davis let this go on in his courtroom? If true, its a good thing he's leaving the bench. Good riddance. Now all you "anonymous" cowards can bring it on....

Dude I was and still am in your corner but your last sentence was uncalled for, especially since you sent your comment in as anonymous.

Judge Davis was still in his chambers.and he already retired.he sits in time to time.he didn't see this happen.I know I did and was revolted by their callous swagger about the situation

Did anyone get the names/badge numbers of the deputies?

Anonymous said...

Well I looked him up on Maryland judiciary and it seems he hasn't committed a crime ever.he has had some credit issues and a divorce but that's it.so do you feel big now buddy.putting down the dead in defense of inexcusable actions from the police? This man apparently was a good man always willing to help someone no matter race or gender.hope he will help you at the pearly gates when its your turn creep

Anonymous said...

I didn't get any names or badge numbers. There was one sheriffs deputy and two MSP and five salisbury cops.the deputy had the photo copy of the deceased man and showed it to the others.the MSP officers kept fairly quiet while the main ones laughing was the deputy and salisbury cops.one cop who I'm sure would be easy to identify was a detective of some sorts wearing a jacket that had th word investigation on it.he was tall skinny and had a red skin tone to him with short cropped blonde hair.appeared to be in his forties. Call and ask the district attorney in court room one for the day.he had talked to this set several times this morning. He knows who they are.I didn't Catholic the attorneys name but he is short with black hair and had some very ugly old school black glasses.

I posted 2:51. I don't know how it got in as anonymous, maybe the "prove you're not a robot" stuff is messing me up, but it was me. Yeah I said it. And stand by every single word. I had some more to say to those sorry LEO's but I think they got the gist of it.

Anonymous said...

So now we have confirmed stories that this is not "heresay"! so now my question is this..if this is an ongoing murder why is a deputy carrying around a picture of a dead man? and second why would he want to carry a dead man's picture around to start with..that is just so morbid and cruel and disgusting...

Anonymous said...

the guy was a witness to a murder and the police approached him many times to get him to tell who did it but he refused for fear of being killed himself the officers even approache dhis bosses and pleaded with them to get him to speak. they told him that he would go to jail for withholding and threatened him numerouse times until he finally spoke up. and the rest is history!!! so, continue to bash the deceased and stand up for the deputies making ridicule in the court room and sleep well

Anonymous said...

For the record-if it's more than one DEPUTY, then they would have been acting unprofessional-LY or in an unpforessional manner. You are starting to look like the DT. If you're going to say it, say it correctly.

Anonymous said...

I know you wont post this joe! If anyone does their homework they would have found out that the picture was not of the deceased victim. The picture was the victim when he was alive. The officer had the picture because he was scheduled for court this morning on something totally unrelated. The officers were discussing that this was the same victim that was murdered last night. Dont let the facts get in the way when you think you have a chance to bash Lewis.

Anonymous said...

Yeah right.why would he walk into the court room with nothing in his hands but that? And to show other cops his picture from before he died? Come on man!
And if that's the case were you there? Were you one of the cops involved? And if so I see you aren't disputing the fact they where mocking the man and joking.

Anonymous said...

Lewis does a great job of bashing himself.no need for anyone's help.

Anonymous said...

So why did he have the picture showing it around? Dead/Alive? I don't see the difference it was still unprofessional and should be dealt with.

Anonymous said...

Seems a lot has been thrown out of proportion here, on all sides, beginning with reporting the victim's name wrong. Not sure what actually happened in the court room with whatever picture was being passed around, but I do know the whole situation deserves much more respect than it was given here. Joe, your reporting is greatly appreciated, honor that.

JoeAlbero said...

The name may have been inaccurate but it is what they heard in the court room from Deputies. It was a nickname. Sit tight because we will deliver an update to this story this morning.

So LEO's can act unprofessionally all they want as long as they do it alone?

Nice try but I don't buy it.
