Va. Volunteer Fire Depts. Could Charge For Calls

WASHINGTON - Two bills sailing through Virginia's General Assembly would allow volunteer fire departments to collect $250 or more from insurance companies if they are called to save or protect insured properties.

The law would require insurance companies to offer the coverage. Homeowners would pay for it.

Do the people pay when they are sick and transported by ambulance? No their health insurance does!

A big back-assward way of raising more fees and surcharges on the citizens without having to say we raised your taxes, but in the end, homeowners are STILL going to pay more out their pocket. And to think, this country was ready to start a WAR over a tea tax!...

While funding is way low for volunteer fire departments its understandable why they would charge for their services .the thing is a home owners insurance Co. Should be thankful to pay a couple hundred dollars if a home owner calls to save their house compared to the Guy with insurance who is scared to call because he can't afford to and his fear creates further more extensive damage that cost twenty fold or more
