PHASE TWO WESTSIDE COLLECTOR CONSTRUCTION BEGINS

The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that construction is currently underway on Phase II of the Westside Collector project. This 0.6 mile-long phase of work will run from Brick Kiln Road to Levin Dashiell Road.

For safety purposes, the Department of Public Works has placed stop signs on Brick Kiln Road. In order to provide additional traffic situational awareness, travelers will also notice “Stop Ahead” advance traffic control signs and advisories on the county’s traffic message boards.

During construction, traffic impacts are expected to be kept to a minimum. This roadway construction project, aimed at relieving congestion on Nanticoke Road, will also include a new bike path. The Department of Public Works expects construction to be completed by the end of the year.

So, how many new American citizen JOBS is this project going to bring to Wicomico County?

I dunno, Joe, but the last contractor, Precision Grading, was a great company until they were hit with constant, unending punch lists and litigation over change orders that their bonding was held ransom for so long they could no longer bid on new work. They had to close up shop because of this. Thanks, Local Government, and good luck to the next contractor. Come to think of it, I never did see it hit the local bid boards... maybe I just missed it, but there isn't that much out there to look at.

Work is being done in house. Also.. it isnt stimulus so i am not sure what you mean about new jobs. Precision made a mint off phase one...their problems were deeper than that job.

Precisions problems had nothing to do with any job. The problems were strictly from the inside. Look alittle deeper!
