Newark-The Delaware State Police have arrested and charged a Glasgow High School teacher in connection with a sexual relationship involving a 17 year old student.
On January 25, 2012 State Police Detectives were contacted by Glasgow High School administration reporting that a male teacher was involved in a sexual relationship with a 17 year old female student. After a thorough and comprehensive investigation, it was determined that the teacher involved and student had an apparent sexual relationship at the school since September 2011.
On Monday, February 6, 2012, Matthew F. Pleasanton-30 of Middletown, DE was charged with 21 charges, consisting of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Sexual Abuse of a Child by a Person of Trust First Degree (10 Counts), and Unlawful Sexual Contact Second Degree with Person less than 18 years of age (10 counts). Pleasanton was arraigned on the charges and released after posting $112,500 Secured Bond.

It's not consensual when you have sex with a child who isn't mature enough to make the rational decision to be in a sexual relationship with an adult which is why we have laws protecting them. Not to mention using the position of authority to achieve pedophilia. 4:15 must be a child toucher.

i just think its sad how young girls act today. they start wearing makeup when they are 10, dress like street walkers and act inappropriately by leading men on. i get that its not ok for a teacher to have a relationship with a student. i'm not an idiot.
just like i think that some of the people who are on the registered sex offenders list is ridiculous. simply because "he" was 22 and "she" was 17 and her parents didn't like it so they pressed charges. even though the girl wasn't coerced into a relationship. there's double standards and its just not fair.
and for the record, i'm a 31 year old married mother of 1.
I do think that if a student makes an accusation that a teacher has Touched, Had a relationship or Raped them and found that it was a lie, or false report, that the girl serve the same sentence as the accused would have served and also be on the offender list.
There have been situations where the accused teacher has had there life ruined because of false accusations, and just a hand spanked as a result. The accuser needs to learn how serious this is.
I'm a parent of a glasgow student and I'm furious about this whole situation!i feel like the school could have done a better job of informing the parents of what has happened.instead of holding meeting with the parents explaing what happened and what they are doing to re ensure the safety of our children,they rather send a automatic message from the principal!since then my child has informed me that two more teachers have been charged,but we as the parents have not been made aware of this!on friday march 16th the students are of so the police can do futher investigation on this matter.My child again had to inform me,not the school.Why isn't the school communicating with the parents on this matter,seems like they want to brush things under the carpet hoping things disappear.Maybe I will reach out to the news outlet about my feelings to make a change!
thats sad like a teacher at my school was saying that he works at glasgow too for part time and he heard about this and the girl was telling the teacher stuff and making him come after her and thats just sad
