A Letter To The Editor 1-17-12

Joe,

Just wondering if you have any idea what is going on with the construction on Nanticoke Road. The state spent a ton of money to widen the road, then put barrels out and left.

In fact, the road is more dangerous than before the construction to widen the road took place, as there is a merge area right off of Route 50.

No sign of anyone working on the road for a month or so.

I went to the SHA web site, and of course could not find out anything on that site.

Any help or updates from the state as to what is going on would be of interest to a lot of people that live out along Nanticoke Road and visit your site regularly.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems they did not make it better for ease of merging... It's much smoother but going West is a mess

We now have a nice turning lane for Williams Market.

What about the West Side collector road? They started that well over a year ago and all it looks like is a dumping ground.

Breaking News! The SHA doesn't know what they're doing; their people are lazy; and the quality of work is terrible. Might be done by 2015.

The place they filled in at Nanticoke Rd. and Pemberton Dr. is going to cause accidents ... it's too big and sticks out in a strange way - people are going to hit it. Dumb. Just dumb.

I have lived off nanticoke rd for12 years and never ever had a traffic issue. I am still baffled by the decision made to widen the small section, block Pemberton only to re open to 2 way traffic. How about a light on 50 where so many accidents have taken place?

I have been wanting to ask the same for 2 weeks! Traffic is worse than ever now with the temporary barrel made spot taking 2 lanes to 1 moved much close to 50. How ridiculous. I understand the need for the turning lane because after work traffic there was a nightmare and I witnessed several accidents myself from people trying to turn in either direction on Parsons. I assume the only part of work left is to move the traffic light. What are they waiting for? Is it on freaking backorder? Whatever the hold up- POOR PLANNING. Should have waited to start the road construction until it was ready.
