Fundraiser

Mardela Middle & High School is trying to raise money for their Acapella group "Insongniacs" to go to the Nationals in New Jersey on the 28th of this month. There wasn't much notice so they are taking donations instead of a fund raising program. They need $2500 minimum to be able to go to this once in a life time event. A video and donation board has been set up on www.kickstarter.com . Can you please use your blog to mention this. They don't have much time and donations are very slim so far. A "shout out" from you on sbynews could help reach a large group of people who would other wise be unaware of the need for donations.

For more informatiuon you can contact John Maybury (Acapella Director at MMHS) 443-359-0906 (cell) or at the school directly 410-677-5142

I hope they get to go. I just donated $25. I like to see kids involved in school programs!

To give a better understanding, Mardela's A capella group had to send in an audition tape for the competition. They were 1 of 9 schools chosen out of hundreds of entries. The only school on the Lower Eastern Shore> they are the smallest school and least funded school. This is an amazing, talented group of kids with an amazing teacher that has given these kids a chance to put themselves out and prove they have what it takes. I ask everyone to please consider helping out. They are very deserving kids

And the wonderful Board of Ed denied a casual day in the schools to support them. Unbelievable.
