I give the police officer credit for not arresting the guy for badgering. The occupation movement was supposed to be about anti wall street, not about causing problems with anyone. If I had been there as a occupy member, I would have gotten the jerk out of the officers face. Doubt if the officer would have arrested me for assault and battery.
Now this is just great. Ok if the kid with the phone was breaking the law witch I would say he wasn't then let him know if he still dose it then arest him. But if he is not breaking the law then that cop had no right to do what he did because he broke the law.Now you got 2 other cops see the one cop break the law and what do they do NOTHING this is why I don't like cops and why so many others don't like or respect them they think they are above the law. So to all the cops that don't get it you do it to yourselvs.

3. Malicious destruction of property
4. Hindering
5. abuse of authority
6. possibly child abuse
7. Terroristic threatening

The camera was no where near the real abuser. He knew he was wrong, that's probably why he refused to identify himself. Which itself is illegal.
If that 'kid' was doing anything illegal, don't you think these jerks would have loved to put the cuffs on him?
The punk cop needs to go back hiding behind a rock, scaring and intimidating little old ladies going 5 miles over the speed limit.
Pretty obvious he should not be anywhere near the public. And what is even more scary is he is allowed to carry a weapon.
Good thing they are wearing vests. I'm sure each of them will need it in the future.

I done condone a cop doing what he did BUT what has happened to people that they challenge cops doing their duty? OK, I'm over 60 but when I was young, there was no way I pushed my luck with ANY cop. That punk kid needed his ass kicked by his dad (if he knows who he is) years ago. Same with the other losers clapping hands for him.
Well pop pop, back then we didn't hear about all the bad stuff cops do. With the internet, we hear a lot of it and a lot sooner than before.
If that particular cop could not control his self in this situation, what would he do in a real stressful situation? Pull out his weapon and start shooting?
You can call me loser or anything else you want. It doesn't bother me. What does bother me is people with a little authority who behave such as this 'cop'.
I can tell just by his actions, stance and the stupid chewing gum what type of cop he is, or isn't.
He is bad news and someone is going to get hurt or worse.
I remember the days of which you speak. And I tend to agree with you to a certain extent.
Unfortunately, I can't be sure if the cops then were any better than what we have today or we just didn't hear about the bad stuff like we do now.
I remember the state police being considered the cream of the crop. One had to be at least six feet tall just to apply.
Over time they relaxed that requirement and others. Lowered the bar(literally) so more could qualify.
Whatever the reasons, and there are many, cops are viewed differently today than in the past. And as we have witnessed in news reports, for good cause.
They have now become the enemy instead of the helpful hero that you remember. (assumption on my part)
Most say it is only one percent that are bad. If that is true, that one percent certainly gets a lot of press time.
Actually, this is pretty mild to what other cops have done. But think about this, they knew they were being recorded. And they still behaved in this manner. THEY DIDN'T CARE.
How much more blatant do they have to be to get your attention?
Watch that older and fatter cop. Watch his body language. He was looking all over the place most of the time, when the dueling camera episode ended, and only briefly looked at the kid a few times.
If he was confident they were in the right, do you think he would have been so timid?
I don't know what the woman cop was whispering to the jerk cop. Perhaps informing him he is required by law to identify himself and his badge number to anyone who requests it. Which he still refused to do.
Why do you, or anyone for that matter, think he refused?
I don't expect a whole lot of professionalism around here, but if there are any professional cops, why are they not condemning this cops behavior if for nothing other than making them look bad?
Or maybe they are just the one percenters too?

How about you pull up your big boy panties and be a productive part of society.
You attempt to come off high and mighty when, in actuality, your actions are worse than those of my 12 year old. You insult a commentor by calling him pop pop. You are nothing more than an asshole who is part of the problem and not the solution. It is actions like yours that have earned the occupy movement's current image.
There needs to be a review board for police and not another police unit to police themselves. I think there should be a community review board where you have to earn a certain accredidation to prove you know the law well enough. To often anymore police officers are able to abuse their power because they are "catching the bad guy". But if the cops break the law they are considered the bad guy, just because you want something to be a certain way does not mean thats the way it will work out.
as a police officer I am always amazed at the answers given by people who are obviously roadside attorneys. Badgering? HaHa. Here's the thing. The officer is guilty of assault 2nd, MDOP on a ciminal level. Conduct unbecoming an officer on a departmental level. Several civil issues including civil rights violations. The officer was wrong. The guy was obnoxious no doubt...but he did nothing illegal. If he had, he should have been arrsted.
And contriban on a pat search? Really? See Terry v. Ohio.
