200-lb 8-Year-Old Placed In Foster Care

CLEVELAND - An 8-year-old elementary school student who weighs more than 200 pounds has been taken from his family and placed into foster care after county social workers said his mother wasn't doing enough to control his weight.

The Plain Dealer newspaper reports that the Cleveland 8-year-old is considered severely obese and at risk for such diseases as diabetes and hypertension.

I don't care if the boy weighs 400 lbs, the state should not be allowed to take your kids away. This is America, not the Soviet Union. If the child was not being beaten or sexually abused the state should stay out of our business. So he eats good and needs more exercise, This is just another example of government wanting to control everything in our life. Like we are to stupid to make our own decisions. Typical liberal mentality.
