Helping others is at the heart of the MS Great 8 Foundation's 500-mile bicycle journey through eight East Coast states Oct. 10 to 17.
The group of nearly 20 cyclists hopes to raise $200,000 during this year's effort. During last fall's ride the group raised $116,000 in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In addition to raising funds, their goal is to raise awareness of the disease whose sufferers include comedian Richard Pryor, talk show host Montell Williams, former U.S. Rep. Barbara Jordan, and actresses Annette Funicello, Lena Horne and Teri Garr.
