WASHINGTON -- The Associated Press has learned that more than 20 Navy SEALs from the unit that killed Osama bin Laden were among those lost in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
The operators from SEAL Team Six were flown by a crew of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. That's according to one current and one former U.S. official. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because families are still being notified of the loss of their loved ones.

My prayers go out to the family members of these SEALs and their co-workers. I guess you would call them co-workers... Another reason why we shouldn't de-fund the DoD.

We may not have a choice now. China is demanding that we cut funding for our military and our social programs. By the way, it was Joe Biden that leaked the information that Seal Team 6 off'd Bin Laden. This made them a target. And I can assure you that our "allies" in Afghanistan leak confidental information such as what "customers" are being transported when and where. This is likely the case in this incident.
Anon 1:39 is exactly right; this loss of some of our very finest is no coincidence! These heroes were tracked and targeted my our Muslim enemies thanks to our loose lipped government! Our own government outed these men, put a target on their backs and signed their death warrants! Nobody is dishonoring these brave fallen heroes! We are dishonoring the neophyte administration that put a #1 revenge target on all members of team 6. I honestly don't believe ANY previous administration would have been so stupid as to have made public what should have been Top Secret, Classified information for at least 10 years just so the president could do a victory dance with the special forces who did the magnificent job on Bin Laden. This administration broke military security protocol so they could be seen standing with heroes! With their loose lips this administration allowed our enemies to win the Bin Laden exchange. We got one worn out, nasty, cowardly terrorist. And thanks to the administration's loose lips, the enemy took out 20 of the finest, elite fighting men in the world, all because OUR neophyte administration made all members of team six THE prime target of of a revenge hit. One thing is certain, Bin Laden was a nasty old bastard, and neither he nor the Taliban members who exacted this "revenge hit" are worthy of cleaning the combat boots of any American serviceman or woman! Are you insane? All responsible top level military personnel were appalled at the administration from the beginning for this breech in military security for the opportunity for a public opinion boost to the president! Quite a costly stunt there, Mr. Obama!
