WASHINGTON GAS

Joe --same scam is running again the Washington Gas People are going door to door trying to get everyone to sign a waiver and want a copy of your latest electric bill, also telling you all your neighbors were interested.   Watch out this time they are wearing tan jump suits with Washington Gas printed on them, last time was white dress shirts and ties.   Please read on line about their scams and how people have been stuck before you sign anything.

washington gas is my electric supplier. i save 4.9 cents per kilowatt hour in the winter. not too bad a of a deal. but i would not sign a waiver just because they wanted it.

I save a bunch with WGES. If they want your business, they'll send you a mailer. No door-to-door. Google them, go their website and you can sign up easy peasy.

You save money per kWh... But are their additional fees such as delivery charges that balance out the savings? I'm interested to know if its worthwhile.

I have eight poultry houses and I save a bundle with WGES. My electric bill can be $8,000 in some summer months and with DPL it used to be almost $10,000. The bill still comes from DPL and they charge a delivery fee but the cost of the actual kilowatts is substantially lower. This type of thing actually started over 15 years ago with utility deregulation; consumers can purchase the electricity from whomever they choose but DPL or Choptank is obligated to deliver it over their lines.

i work for DPL and a bunch of us have WGES. it is a good deal. you still pay DPL for the cost of getting the electric across the lines, about 20 to 25% of your bill. but the savings in the winter is KILLER with WGES.

What "savings in the winter"?

Electric heat I'd assume, which uses a ridiculous amount of energy.
