Rt. 50 Draw Bridge Very Busy Over The Past 24 hours

If your anywhere near the Rt. 50 Draw Bridge you can hear the horns and bells going off. However, over the past 24 hours I have heard these sounds more often than I have ever heard in the past. Fortunately no fire sirens have been going off at the same time.

This morning at 9:00 AM the Bridge went up and then again at 9:20. Yesterday was no exception. At least at 9:00 this morning there was a barge traveling under the Bridge.

So if you have an employee who said they were late because the Bridge was up and they were supposed to be at work at 9:00, well, they wouldn't have made it to work by 9:00 anyway because it went off right at 9:00 on the dot.

Seems to me if an employee was scheduled to be at work at 9 and the bridge went up at 9, then said employee should have already been at work when the bridge went up.

Actually, most of the workers have come through by 9AM. The bulk of them come from Pocomoke or Salisbury via Shore Transit. They arrive in West Ocean City, take a shuttle to Downtown OC, then a highway bus to their place of employment. They spend a lot of time on the bus and any delay during the trip can cause them to miss their connection. They don't have a lot of control over this.
