Unarmed black man was fatally shot at an Oakland train station in 2009

A white former San Francisco Bay area transit officer convicted of the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man on an Oakland train station platform was released from jail early Monday after serving 11 months of a two-year sentence, officials said.

Johannes Mehserle was set free from a Los Angeles County jail, where he served his time after his attention-getting trial was moved to Southern California, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

I saw the video of the ruthless attack these supposed "officers" carried out they should have been put to death! Talk about justice being trampled on! They shot an UNARMED man who WAS NOT resisting and they walk away with a slap on the wrist. It seems every day we loose more and more of our freedom to stuff like this and we just look the other way and say it couldn't happen to us. I'm sure that's what the dead man thought the day before he lost his life to a COP!

"If you're not doing anything wrong, then you don't have anything to worry about"....thats what some goof said on this site several times. Worked out GREAT for him, huh? 11 months for MURDER??? I wonder if the victim's brother (or father or mother) looked for him and shot HIM, would THEY get 2 years and do (LOL!) 11 months??? See the next article for MORE on our "heroes" and their selfless behavior....

Oscar Grant was an habitual offender who was being arrested for violent criminal activity on New Years Eve, while law abiding Californians who are systematically deprived of their Second Amendment rights (as are most Marylanders) were simply trying to use public transportation.

We hear about how Oscar was a young father and getting his life together, but he was neither being a father nor getting his life together that evening, he was back to his old ways.

Any objective person would look at that video and know this was an accidental shooting. Any objective person would know that no sane, even if malicious, police officer would blatantly shoot a suspect on the ground in front of a station full of witnesses on video cameras.

The only people howling about this is the decaying black community and their sympathizers who have maintained for decades that all the problems of the black community are the fault of white people and insufficient government spending. Now they are out of excuses. Whites are 75% of the population and commit 40% of the murders almost never across racial lines, while blacks are 12% of the population, they commit 36% of the murders.

"The black community" can't handle these truths nor explain them away, so they riot where discussion is impossible. And do not kid yourselves: the rioters may be misguided and violent, but the seeds of their ignorance and anger are fed by educated people, many of whom are on the public payroll as teachers and college professors. - David Hearne

Most citizens who "accidently' shoot and kill another person get more than 11 months. A police officer should, by training, NEVER, "accidently" shoot an unarmed citizen. And there are many instances of police shooting unarmed people, in front of witnesses. sometimes on video, like that Chicago cop who hancuffed a man to aploe outside his house, told the man's crying daughter to go back inside, and when she did, cold-bloodedly turn and around and shot the man in the head. What he didn't know was it was being filmed. Bad for him. But cops DO shoot innocent people, rob them, rape them, blackmail them, sell and transport drugs, extort, and beat innocent people within an inch of the lives. Every day. Thousands of court cases across the nation prove it. And so does tons of video. I'm not in the "decaying black community" or anyone's sympathizer. Just not an apologist for ANYONE who shoots a unarmed man laying down on his back. Prior criminal or not. Black or not. Bad father or not.
