A firefighter with the Chancellor Volunteer Fire Department in Spotsylvania County, Virginia has been charged with raping a 13 year-old girl.
The victim thought she was texting a friend Friday night, but the message went to a wrong number and was received by volunteer firefighter Justin Neil Baber, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's office.
The teenager's text message was a simple "Hi," to which Baber allegedly responded "Hey who is this?" The two then had a brief text conversation during which the teenager stated she didn't know him, police say. Baber then asked if she lived in Spotsylvania and could sneak out and meet him.
The teen met Baber later that evening, according to a police press release. She later told a counselor that he was driving a white police type vehicle with radios in it. Investigators say Baber was driving a fire department response vehicle.
Baber, 23, from Spotsylvania has been arrested. He is in jail with no bond.

Par for the course. Didn't Salisbury have one of it's clowns arrested for riding around in a fake police car and he is still employed??
This new shift schedule with the Salisbury Fire Department has created thousands of dollars in overtime costs for the taxpayer. Has also ticked off the volunteers.

Hello everybody!!! What's it going to take to wake you up?! This inept Fire Chief is destroying a department that has an enormous amount of potential but will continue to fail under the present leadership.
The chief is a product of the system and not the root cause. The root cause of SFD's problem is the Mayor who selected and allows this type of leadership that continues to waste our tax dollars paying for services and equipment the volunteers have always in the past provided FREE OF CHARGE!
The volunteers are being forced out and replaced with the most expensive ways available.
WHEN WILL WE SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?! WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?! Replace this chief that has no experience with managing combination - or even volunteer - departments with somebody that can. Why was he hired to do a job he has no experience or background with?
I have to agree with 3:17 PM. I never thought I would say it could get any worse than Hoppes and Gordy, but the Salisbury Fire Department is in worse shape than it ever has been. Most of the blame can be pinned on Jim Ireton, but the 5 city council members confirmed this clown without a background check. This guy is not qualified to get hired any where as a firefighter, but the city leaders hire him to run the fire department into the ground.
Joe are you in bed with this guy?? People have told you over and over again how corrupt this guy is and you refuse to do a story on this and keep it at the top.
Jeff Simpleton is to stupid to run a paid fire department which shows his lack of experience. As much as he hates Hoppes he has to go to him to find out how to do the budget.

Yep, you are right and that clown you are defending knows this rapist! He is not the perfect match for Salisbury that some of you claim. Get rid of him before it's to late. Jeff Simpson is a racist and needs to go back to where ever he came from.

I know Justin Baber and he's not a bad person. He just likes sex alot that's all. Don't think of him badly. Don't talk bad about him either he's a very nice guy just like's sex too much and i have no clue why he did this
