COST OF OBTAINING A BIRTH CERTIFICATE IN WICOMICO COUNTY INCREASES

(Salisbury, MD) Effective June 1, 2011 the cost of obtaining a certificate of live birth in Wicomico County will increase to $32. Prior to June 1, certificates can be purchased at the current cost of $20. This increase comes after this year’s Maryland General Assembly, where legislative budget analysts proposed doubling the cost of birth and death certificates to counties, beginning June 1, 2011.

Certificates for those born in the state of Maryland can be obtained through the Vital Records Department at the Wicomico County Health Department located at 108 East Main Street in Salisbury, Maryland. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Method of payment is cash only through May, 2011. Beginning June 1, 2011, credit cards will also be accepted. A Government Issued non-expired photo ID is required, and certificates can only be issued to the parent or adult named on the certificate.

For more information, please call (410) 543-6949 or visit http://www.wicomicohealth.org/.

That's not too bad of an increase considering obama has spent 1.5 million for his and he still hasn't got one.

On the very DAY that I have to go downtown and get one for my son, I see this posted here.

At least now, I don't have to look up the address, or hours of operation!

Thanx for the info.
