Circumcision Debate In San Francisco Reaches Washington DC

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The controversy spreading in San Francisco over a push to outlaw circumcisions has reached the Washington area. A group trying to ban the practice has collected 12,000 signatures, more than enough to officially put it on a ballot in San Francisco's next election.

Rabbi Raphael Malka of Silver Spring, Md. is a Mohel and said, "If it's against religion it is against the United States." Rabbi Malka, who has performed countless circumcisions as part of a Jewish celebration known as a Bris, said a move that would ban the practice is simply unconstitutional.

The man in San Francisco behind the push is Lloyd Schofield who claims it's a type of mutilation of the genitals. Schofield said, "It's the man's body...his body doesn't belong to his government, religion or even his parents."

I strongly disagree with not belonging to his parents.

And why does he think he can dictate what others do for their children? (and the 12,000 on petition?)

Lemmee guess, all the signatores are men...most of whom won't neuter their male dogs.
