Thanks Joe. I think alot of people forget what the day is all about. In memory, of my uncles who died in WWII.
Freedom is never free! And our freedoms are slowly slipping away with the current administration. Wake up, America! Lord, help us!
Freedom is free. Get over yourselves. Its like saying water isn't wet. Of course it is. Freedom is an expression of a state of being which comes FREELY.
Only our Creator can give us freedom. The only freedom we have is the freedom of will. We can live our lives as we choose and we can recognize our Creator or not.
Most of us choose not to recognize our Creator and therefore will live miserable lives. We do not know who we are.
The soldiers kill others for the benefit of the elite who run the government. There is nothing noble about it. They also do not defend us or our Country. We are under threat from Inside our Nation and Government - not from outside.
Most of the soldiers know nothing of the U. S. Constitution or the illegal government which rules over us today in the 21st Century.

He's giving our money away to the bankers, the auto industry, fake global warning scams, not to mention all the money he spends on vacations and golf!. Their actions can determine whether someone can be happy or not. When so many people are having such a hard time paying their bills and the government doesn't seem to care about their own citizens and will bend over backwards for NON citizens people tend to NOT be happy. How can I be happy that my fellow American are having such a hard time and I see illegals taking benefits that should be going to help them.

I don't know who your "creator" is, but I call mine God. You may want to look him up sometime. As far as the "freedom is free" part, try telling that to the soldiers that now have permanent disabilities because they decided to stand up and protect their country. I happen to be one of the disabled veterans. Not to mention the families of the soldiers who paid the ultimate price. Because of the freedoms allowed by this country, you have the right to post a comment on Joe's blog, but your comments are nothing but more than an ignorant and immature rant that was just a waste of Joe's blog space. At the end of the day, regardless of economic situation or personal place in life, you are in control of whether you are happy or not. You determine the parameters that you measure happiness. I did not like George Bush and did not vote for him or his dad, but when they were president, they did not determine my happiness or success. That responsiblity fell on me. Any success or happiness I have now, or struggles and frustrations, are not the fault of Obama or any elected representative on this planet.
Blaming others for your lack of happiness removes responsiblity from you. If it is wrong for "Libs" to depend on the government for their well-being, why is it OK for others to blame the government for thier misery?

Alex --- how about the freedom to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures?? Have you READ the Patriot Act?? Pretty much DECIMATES the Bll of Rights. Know what emminent domain is? Have you read any news reports lately? I'm referring to the confiscation of property and valuables by the police without trial or conviction. In hundreds of thousands (thats right- HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS) of cases across the country, property and money have been taken from defendants (confiscated) and the defendants have been RELEASED without trial or conviction. Have you read about any of the reporters who have been jailed (indefinitely!) because they refused to reveal their sources to the government (in non-National Security cases!). Freedom is NOT free. Ask any of the citizen soldiers who froze to death at Valley Forge. Or ask any of the slaves who died in the Civil War. Or maybe the millions who died fighting Hitler and Stalin. Or maybe travel, if they LET you, to one of the countries, perhaps Iran, China, or North Korea and start speaking your mind, or publishing some critical article. then tell us how freedom is so easy and free. Your viewpoint and uninformed opinion is utterly disgusting. I can see you've grown up in a world where everything has been given to you without you having a clue about how we got here. Learn some history....AND current events....

It is funny how you trip over yourself to let us all know how great freedom of speech and expression is, but then chastize anyone who uses it to express things differently from you.

Dan...you poor thing...as a self professed liberal, you should be alarmed over what the Patriot Act says and does. I know perfectly well it was written in Bush's term. And I was merely pointing out Alex's erroneous and uninformed point that no freedoms have been "taken away" or "lost". I also didn't realize that chastizing someone for their viewpoint was, in any way, RESTRICTING their right to expression or free speech. but freedom of speech/ expression does NOT mean that whatever you say is blindly accepted or is to be unquestioned. As you have clearly pointed out. Education, my brother. And further, did I lie in my statements? If so, point the errors out.
