Now this is a CANDIDATE! Let's get a few more of her and select the best! What's all the paranoia over SAPOA? What is SAPOA? for those of us who don't share in the conspiracy theory.
She appears to be intelligent but what are her political positions on things like the Bricks and Linens of the Week, as well are Jim-Beau's "safe streets" scam?

I don't know that she is a plant of SAPOA, but if she is elected she could flip flop just as Louweasel Smith did.
What I do know is she is a friend of Jim Ireton and Chuck Cook. What I do know is she was asked by Ireton to run to unseat Terry Cohen as part of his "Dream Team."
What I do know is she is a big supporter of Obama and O'Malley and their Tax and Spend policies.
What I do know is she is unemployed and doesn't want to hold a full time job.
What I do know she is not what this city needs and everyone should run as fast as they can from her.
I just checked out her "Friends of Laura" Facebook page and she had photo's of her Meet and Greet at Flavors(same place Ireton frequents shirtless). I saw several faces I recognized that threw up a red flag: Jim Ireton, Chuck Cook, Lynn and Don Cathcart, Susan Carey, etc.
Enough for me to vote against her.
Ireton's treatement of Cohen is shameful. Guess he expected her to rubber stamp him. She remains an independent voice of reason.
Good start. It's the first candidate to actually state some goals and views. One glaring omission though was any mention of the Fiscal side of managing Salisbury, not taxes, not reduction in spending, not even the fireboat. Sure she gave credit to the SPD saving $34,000 but is that enough?

Some are saying she is a SAPOA plant others are saying she is friends with Ireton. Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
I've heard her speak. She has good ideas and is willing to listen to and compromise with all sides (you know, like a politician should!).
And she DOES want to hold a full time job - city councilwoman!

What evidence do you have that Ireton is trying to get rid of Cohen -- and why would he want to replace her with a "SAPOA plant"?
What does her husband being a professor have to do with the left side? Are ALL professors in that camp? Somehow I doubt it!

Weezy Smiff was a good team aligned with Cohen and Campbell also and she flip flopped. Since this Left Wingnut Liberal is friends of Obama, O'Malley and Ireton I don't want any part of her.

For those who are not political savvy,
what in the hell is the acronym SAOPA mean?
Did't think the Eastern Shore had caves so I'm not sure if these that don't know what SAOPA stands for are possible Aliens! New to area? Been in a Coma?
Laura Mitchell is a liberal democrat , If you want another
smith or comegy , vote for her.
She is a Socialist .
Some facts:
Louise Smith is a Republican.
SAPOA stands for "Salisbury Area Property Owners Association." This group represents most of the landlords in Salisbury. (I won't give an opinion; these are facts.)
Laura Mitchell was recently appointed to the Democratic Central Committee.
Terry Cohen is a registered Democrat and attended Laura Mitchell's meet and greet because she was invited (per a conversation I had with her in which I asked her why she was there.) Terry did not say she was for or against Mitchell. (Opinion coming: my impression is that Terry does not know Mitchell very well.)
Disclaimer: I plan to vote for Terry Cohen and Tim Spies. They are honorable people. I do not have to agree with them on everything. I want elected people I can trust.
I will keep an open mind for all of the candidates for the third seat -- except Muir Boda because of his ridiculous statement about Debbie Campbell's voting "no" X number of times. I don't care how nice he is or how many people he has helped at his church, if he doesn't understand why those "no" votes were good for the city, then he's just a Comegys-in-training. Thanks, but no thanks!
I encourage everyone to do their own homework and not just toss out slams.

Is she/he or her/his husband/wife a member of a secret society?
