Another Senseless and Tragic Murder In St. Thomas

We woke up this morning to news of a ridiculously mindless and scary tragedy that happened on St. Thomas during the night; an employee of the Big Kahuna in town was allegedly followed home or he interupted his house being robbed and was shot and killed. This is all the information we’ve heard and if you know of anything different please comment in.

RIP Tim, manager of Big Kahuna…

Yes, I realize there is violence all the time on this island, but this strikes a different chord. This is a scary day.
Our heart felt condolences go out to Tim’s family, he did not deserve this.

While stationed aboard an aircraft carrier, we went there many times. We learned over the course of those visits that crime was very high and we had sailors shot while visiting. I've always cautioned friends and family from vacationing there. May God be with you and your family.

Tim was a former Parkside High School football coach and loved by all the kids...he will be missed!

I just received unofficial word that the owner, Robert Rosenblit (also the owner of the Paddock in Ocean City) was with Tim at the time of the shooting/robbery. Rosenblit was beaten, but is OK. Tim Metzger was his manager on the Party Block in Ocean City. Such sad, sad, news.

CORRECTION: Tim Metzger was NOT a manager at the Paddock in Ocean City, but did have a lot of local friends.

He was one of the best football coaches I had when I played at Parkside. Very humorous, laid back. I havn't seen him in 2 years, but I remember the times we had together on the field and the guidance he gave me along the way.

Love ya bro

Metzger was a good friend of mine, and will be missed. He was an all around good guy and was thoroughly kind. He was active in his community. Warm wishes go out to his family and friends, and prayers also for the Rosenblit family...another fine bunch, indeed.

One wonders what this world is coming to. Last week a teen strangled his 87-year-old grandmother to death. Now we have a relatively young man, apparently highly thought of, who was killed because he walked in on robbers. What little regard some have for human life! My sympathy to his family and to his many friends, such as the young footplayer. It's beyond me how a person can be so depraved as to regard the lives of other humans like so much garbage that can just be tossed out on a whim. I'm glad that I am in the last third of my life, as I don't know where all this is leading.

Tim had such an impact on so many. He coached both of my sons at Parkside. All the players (both football and lacrosse) loved him. He would joke and play around with them as well as teach them. They all respected him and will miss him terribly. Rest in peace Coach. God bless!
