Resume: Investigators from the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to Pleasant Valley Road last night for a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
A Chrysler Town and Country was traveling north on Pleasant Valley Road, south of Old Baltimore Pike. The pedestrians were in the area of the end of their driveway along the 2000 block of Pleasant Valley Road.
The Chrysler then struck the children at the driveway entrance. It has not been determined if the mini-van drifted into the driveway or if the children wondered into the street.
As a result of the impact, the two children were transported to Christiana Hospital. The 11-year-old has injuries which are considered life threatening. The 20-month-old was admitted for observation only.
It should be noted that the mother of the children was also in the area of the driveway at the time of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation. Witnesses are asked to call Troop 2 investigators at 302-834-2620 ext. 278

before someone says well they should let thier kids play near the road....this is a tragedy and we shut our mouths and just pray that child turns out ok. its doesnt matter who did what or what...only thing that matters is that this child makes it. then lay the blame
Amen, 4:42!
Also, when my youngest was 3, we were in our yard when a car jumped the curb! I was just a few feet away and would not have reached my child in time if he had been 3 feet further away where the car came to a stop!
I got chills and deja vu reading this post.
Prayers for the child and the family.
What a nightmare.....makes you paranoid to let your kids out.
a poster on delaware online story pointed to the driver's facebook page -
Cidmarie Brown, the 11 year old was a friend of my family. She has passed. May God be with her always. Pray for her and her family. Thank you.
i was a schoolmate of Cidmarie. It was a tragic event. Now it is a writeup to mention her name.
This is a tragic event that has realy hit home for me.I live right down the street on pleasant valley road. I have three little girls and cant imagine what her parents are going through. Two of my daughters rode the school bus with cidmarie. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting cidmarie I have heard many things about the beauitful little girl. This tragic event makes myself alot more cauious when my three young girls are playing outside the house. If anyone knows pleasant valley road, they know how dangerous it is. People who drive on the road without reguards to pesterdians and other cars should learn to respect the road. Untill now we never had police patrolling on this road, and its ashame that it has taken a tragic event for them to open their eyes and take action towards the traffic on this road. My deepest reguards to cidmaries family, my heart goes out to you.
