This is an excellent post. On this very subject, does anyone know anything about the guy who sits with a sign across the street from the Tiger Mart on Autumn Grove (near Denny's and Wendy's)? It looks like it's his job and he has nice clothes. He's almost always there during daylight hours. I've wanted to give him money but I am not sure about him.
Second Chance Thrift Store in downtown Delmar is now accepting coats and will give them free to those that are in need. We also offer free bread on Tuesday and Thursday, donated by Panera Bread.

They need to be taken from the streets and put where they can be looked after.

Where might that be? Who would do that? Certainly not the city. We have seen how they treat the downtrodden.
I put a buck into the Salvation Army kettles every time I see one. It's not much but then I don't have much.
I know how it feels to be poor so I try to help whenever I can.
