OCEAN CITY POLICE ASK FOR PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING SODA MACHINE THIEF

On Tuesday, November 30, 2010, Ocean City Police responded to the Hilton, in the area of 3200 Baltimore Avenue, in reference to a theft from a Coke machine.  Officers learned that the Coke machine, located on the 12th floor, had been pried open and the money inside of the machine had been stolen.

In addition to the 12th floor, Coke machines on the 11th, 10th and 9th floors had also been broken into.  At this time, the total amount of money stolen and the total value of damage are still undetermined.

The suspect, who was seen on video walking into each vending machine room with his head down, moved surveillance cameras from their original positions.  Images recovered of the suspect, identify him as a white male, who was carrying some type of shoulder bag/briefcase.

The Ocean City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the Coke machine theft.  If you have any information regarding the suspect or the theft, please call the Ocean City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 410.723.6604.
