Delmar Fire 12/26 Bi-State Blvd

About 6pm my family smelled smoke and looked out the windows and saw flames shooting up from the roof of our neighbors house on Bi-State Blvd. in Delmar, DE.

These are good people, the Smysers. They were plowing roads when they got the call that their home was on fire. Their dogs were inside. I don't know yet if they made it out. The wife was just laid off a few weeks ago. They just arrived and said the house is gone. So sad!

How heartbreaking! Fires, loss of homes, belongings and pets are not easy any time, but this is a horrible time of year to suffer such losses. We will be praying for this family.

I'm sure they appreciate all your prayers! They did lose their inside dogs. I believe the Red Cross is helping and they have contacted their insurance company. Any other help would be great.

She wears a size 12 and an XL top. Shoes are an 8 1/2.

He wears 36/30 pants and XL tops. Shoe size is 10 1/2.

These are great people...you could call on them day or night. I will be contacting the Bank of Delmarva to set up an account for them but they are closed tomorrow so it will be Tuesday before I can get it done. You can drop donations off at my Remax office across from Chilis starting at 9am Tuesday due to the snow.

I am so sad for this family. And to add to this tragedy, losing the family pets. At a time of such stress, the pets would always be there to give you comfort, but now they don't even have that. My prayers will be said.

This is soo sad. They suffered 2 gr
eat losses, the house & a beloved pet.

Salisbury people have a good way of "pulling together" when others need help----Let us show these people -who have helped many -what we are willing to do for them.

Joes site helps "get the word out fast!!!" It's a blessing!

This is a tragedy... I have seen the house they have nothing left !!! My heart goes out to them, I know how much they loved their dogs. They are grieving a huge loss. The Smysers are a super nice couple- Darlene is a big brother/big sister and rings the bell every season for the needy, Peanut - he has a heart of gold, would give you the shirt off his back to help you out. They need our prayers.......God Bless ...
