RED KETTLE DONATIONS DOWN

"One of the Salvation Army's most recognizable fundraisers — the Red Kettle campaign —isn't performing well in its first week and representatives are pointing toward a new Giant Food policy as the reason. The National Capital Area Salvation Army reported today that the campaign — where volunteers and paid personnel stand outside shopping centers during the holidays ringing a bell to draw attention to the large red bucket next to them — has seen a $74,000 drop in donations compared to the same week last year. People don't have money to give , thanks again obama . I live on SS and can hardly make ends meet. No raise for us since 2 years ago.

WOW! I knew that Giant was a popular bell ringing location. It must be a real blow locally too.

I hope those that can will dig a little deeper and/or volunteer to ring somewhere else.

If the givers can't give - think about how hard it is on those with NOTHING who rely on the Salvation Army.

Speculation and fear of things getting even worse I'm sure many people are trying to prepare for worse times and can't give as much as they would like to.

I received an email today that reports the following:
The CEO at Red Cross receives $652,000 salary a year.
UNICEF CEO get $1,200,000 plus a Rolls Royce. (yearly)
Salvation Army - $13,000 plus housing for managing this $2 Billion org. 96% go to the cause it is intended.
easy to choose, isn't it?
