I am deeply disturbed by those who have chosen to bring the Vincent family, and most particularly Jill Vincent, into a political campaign and to use Sam's death as a political tool. Over the past several weeks I have had several personal conversations with Jill and well as multiple e-mail exchanges. I will not share the e nature of our communications, which were very open and helpful to both of us, but I can unequivocally state that at no time did Jill give any indication whatsoever that she had in the past or ever would in the future support Seth Mitchel for State's Attorney. Jill wants nothing more than to grieve and to heal. I find it appalling that anyone would attempt in any fashion to use Jill Vincent as a pawn in a political game.
During the forty years that Sam Vincet and I knew each other and further over twenty-five years that we worked together, there was never a time when Sam or I even remotely considered that Seth Mitchell would be able to handle the position of State's Attorney for Wicomico County.
Please let Jill Vincent heal and pursue the pathway to a normal life. She is not a political tool.

Davis, thank you so much for your statement to all of us who follow this blog. Your kind comments helped us in the grieving process over Sam's death. Sam was my cousin and one of my best buddies. There are days when we do family activities that I miss him the most.
Sam would have been proud of your statement. He loved Jill greatly and have protected her from harmful political statements.

As you have stated, this has been an appalling act of betrayal by a supposed friend of Jill's and by someone who apparently is so desperate to be States Attorney that he will stoop to anything.
This should clearly answer the question - who is the better man for the job. No honor, no integrity, Seth Mitchell should go hide somewhere until the election is over.
Vote Matt on Tuesday.

When people get caught red handed and the first thing they do is go on the attack, that's the individual to stay away from. You will lose this race and you will lose it in a very big way. The democrats in Wicomico County are not stupid. Well, some of them are but most of them are not.
Everyone knows you're backed by John Robinson and the Barrie Tilghman family. We've seen your financials. You are only running for their special interests, it's that simple. You are being used Seth and the funniest part that I get to see if YOU actually believing you're important enough for the position.
Now, as far as every single attorney I have ever spoken to about this matter locally, you're the biggest joke they have ever seen. Mr. Jannace runs a close second, if that makes you feel any better. We also saw his donation to your campaign, so that explains a lot too.
Nevertheless, placing your signs in front of Maciarello's and then crying time and time again to the Moose Lodge about Matt's sign vs. yours and his having better placement, they just don't like you Seth. Clearly I have to tell you that because YOU just can't get the hint.
I care what Mr. Ruark has to say and thousands of others care too. No one ever knew who you were before this race Seth. You're just too stupid to realize that and that's why you were dumb enough to make the above comment.

I too believe that Matt is the better candidate, and I will vote for him. But Mr. Ruark brought about his own demise through arrogance, abuse of office (remember the "sign your resignation if your agin me email?") and failure to obey the law himself. I have no problem with him prosecuting the one case he has left, but let him be gone after that. I hope Matt, who will win, recognizes this necessity.
I'm voting for Matt M too. Could never vote for the very man who allowed Thomas Leggs, Jr. to get off in the past.

I thought the world of Sam and still hug his brother Carl every time I see him. I know Davis and know he's good at what he did and has tried to make up for his mistakes. I know Seth and he's not as bad as some want to think he is. I don't know Matt very well but my interractions with him have all been favorable. Why can't we let the vote happen and leave the character attacks out of it? You vote as your heart leads you. This is why no one wants to run for office in Wicomico county. They have to put up with this crap. This probably won't be posted either. I hope it does and we can at least have a few days where we can respect other human beings. I pray so anyway!
I find it completely insensitive to Jill Vincent for anyone to drag her name into this campaign. That woman who is supposedly a friend would be brought up on charges of slander. This is just a disgrace to Jill Vincent, the Vincent family and Sam Vincent. Don't worry Vincent Family, it's going to be a landslide and Matt will be victorious. As for you Seth Mitchel, I'd start looking for a job elsewhere. If the citizens of this county had their way, you would be fired. Good luck to you Mr. Ruark in your future.

You see the thing is people do care what Mr Ruark has to say because he is still respected in Wicomico County. Unlike you, he took the high road and learned from his mistakes. Why don't you crawl back under that rock where you've been living. Even someone like me who only earned a high school diploma knows that if you don't have your character to fall on you are nothing. And you Mr Mitchell are NOTHING! Your own actions have proved this. You can't by class buddy! As I have said all along Matt has my vote!
