Joe
Just wondering if anyone else was observing the new paving going down pemberton drive. I don't understand why the state, county and city can't get together and pave the entire road. Instead it appears that they are only paving the county sections of the road. Therefore they pave a mile, skip a mile, pave a mile etc. In the mean time the worst section where it meets nanticoke is left in terrible shape.
Our brilliant leaders.
Thanks

thank obama!!! it is stimulous money that is paying for it that is the only reason any paving is being done.
That's due to the crazy annexation the city did in the past. Parts of the road are in the city, then county, then city. Leave it to Salisbury Leaders to muck up everything.
The County and City have different design standards. I could also be part of an agreement with a developer to repave portions of the road. I do agree it is pretty silly though. But then again, the County isn't known for making the best decisions. Take the hiring of Joe Arthur for example.
It makes me giggle that the company that was hired or won the bid is from upstate Delaware. So really they are not even putting people to work in our area.
Furthermore, the entire idea to repave the parts they are doing is stupid. Rather not even use the money than use to for something that doesn't need to be fix in the first place...
Yeah Salisbury, oh I mean Wicomico County.
The city areas are in the worst shape, but the county areas on Pemberton were done only a few years ago and are in good shape. Thus the question---why are we spending tax payer money onpaving streets that are in good shape, and not paving streets in poor shape???
WE NEED CHANGE IN ALL LEVALS OF GOVERNMENT
I once called the folks at Wicomico county to complain about a dangerous pot hole in Stage Rd, near Delmar...their response? Two days later there was a new sign up that said "End County Maintenance".
County stinks just as much as the city.
They cry poor mouth and stick it to city taxpayers on everything.
Who is Joe Arthur? (7:57 comment)
2:54 - The County has a way of wasting money on positions that are not needed. Furthermore, they fill these positions with people that are under educated and under qualified. Joe Arthur is an example of that. He probably makes $100,000 (including salary and benefits).
