Democratic senator says political climate 'is not conducive' to voting now
WASHINGTON — Two leading Democrats say a Senate vote to extend sweeping tax cuts that expire in January might have to wait until after the November congressional elections.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus of Montana said he is ready to take action, but other Democrats are eager to start their election season recess, leaving little time to address the tax cuts. Democratic Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware said the political climate "is not conducive" to addressing the tax cuts before the election.
Democrats were expected to make a final decision on the debate's timing during a lunchtime caucus Thursday.
The most sweeping tax cuts in a generation, enacted in 2001 and 2003, are due to expire in January.

The incumbents have already revealed their plan to let these tax cuts EXPIRE at the end of the year. If O'Donnel wins, she can cancel Carper's intended vote. If Coons wins, you get same ole, same ole and we all lose to a tax increase.
A good reason why yet another Delaware elected official needs to be given the boot!
It's not conducive to keep giving a certain percentage of Americans tax cuts when the rest of us are struggling and the deficit keeps rising!
Take a "rich" American - if he or she is opening up FACTORIES to make goods here in our own country, then I'm all for the tax cuts.
Unfortunately, many of those getting the tax cuts are EXPORTING their work to factories overseas as well as hiring overseas workers.
In the meantime, our country is failing and will continue to fail until we put factories back on line and give people jobs!
