New Internet LAW

Just wanted to let you know that the New Homeland Security Bill has passed. Things will be different now and Internet surfing as you know it will be tracked by what the FBI calls a 'nonintrusive method.' The FBI says you will hardly notice anything different.

If George Orwell was still alive, would he run for President, or be involved in a revolution? The Patriot Act is a complete and utter revocation of the Bill of Rights and "Homeland Security" (doesn't THAT sound like something out of the book "1984"?) is putting the finishing touches on the whole process. How long before the Thought Police are a reality???

Because Bush did it - the Patriot Act is okay......isn't it?????

As a matter of fact, it was Ronald Reagan who pretty much started the ball rolling in regard to the degradation of the Constitution and the limitations it put on the Fedaral government. Thsi is not to diminish the insidious actions of Presidents going back to Woodrow Wilson, but Reagan (back to the subject) threw the Posse Comitatus Act into the trash when he authorized the U.S. Navy to stop (by force, if necessary!!) ship in INTERNATIONAL WATERS and --- BOARD & SEARCH them for contraband. Remember that WE went to war in 1812 against Britain for doing the EXACT SAME THING to our ships in international waters. He also authorized some of the first top secret sattelites used to monitor communications IN THE UNITED STATES. Republican or Democrat (I'm registered Republican), those are the facts. until the Patriot Act, it was bill Clinton who took the cake for signing legislation usurping our rights under the Constitution. By far...The Constitution and the Bill of Rights (and the Declaration of Independence, for that matter) are just (in the view of those in power) are merely historical documents tourists can go see in Washington. Thats all- just pieces of paper with no meaning or authority that they recognize. Their actions speak for themselves.
