Salisbury News is considering a new feature we'd like your input about. We're considering a link to another Site in which we would publish all of the nasty comments, death threats and personal attacks against me, my Wife and Grandson.
We have been saving many of these comments for more than a year now and I thought it might be worth while giving you the option to click on a link and see just what we deal with on a daily basis.
We all pretty much know who's behind these comments and this "option" would mean you'd have to put some effort into actually going there. If you'd be offended, (which 99% of you should be) then you simply do not click on the link.
This feature would NOT be a part of Salisbury News. It would be separate and would offer a warning telling you that you are about to view harsh material.
You see Folks, these 5 or 6 people know I won't publish these comments on Salisbury News but what they didn't know was that we have been saving these comments and that one day we might just publish them elsewhere.
Nothing is set in stone with this. We're simply considering it and we'd like to hear what you think. If we make these comments available and you have a pretty good idea who's behind them, perhaps they might reconsider sending me hundreds of nasty comments per day once their exposed.

If you think exposing these morally bankrupt and obviously mentally challenged individuals will have some purpose, go for it.
NO....would only encourage more negitive comments..why focus on what is only to hurt...I am sorry that people exist to hurt you and your family
I would go ahead and publish the site. I think that these comments should be put out there so that the citizens of Salisbury know what these supposed "good citizens" think. I might visit once or twice in a blue moon, just to see what you deal with on a daily basis, but I would still stick with your mainstream site multiple times a day.
50/50 shot, either a, they back off at the fear of being caught/recognized/exposed, or b, they simply continue to make them, and then post further comments about how your making them up...
Saving for your documentation / evidence is enough IMO. I would not waste my time or energy on nosy busy bodies who would visit that site. I would say stay focused on your community service like this site / blog. Thanks for your committment to this blog.

To be honest, if I cared what these people say about anyone, I'd probably be following their site. I don't.
Unless you can prove who sent them, I say no. Accusations or anonymous mean nothing so what is the point of the site? You are not the first to receive such comments and will not be the last.
Just delete (or save elsewhere if you so chose) the remarks, and ignore the fools.

I say NO either only because you will be giving them the fame and attention they may want! Besides if you give someone enough rope they will hang themselves and KARMA will get them. You just keep up your AWESOMELY good work and don't waste your time and energy on them. I know it's got to be awful to deal with that on a daily basis, but just know that when you expose their lies and cover-ups you literally paint target on your back and therefore become a threat. Just stay the course and continue to CYA by keeping all documentation but that's all the time I'd waste on it. Your so busy that is just going to take up time and energy you can apply to doing what you do best. THE TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS not matter what so just have faith in that and carry on. In staying true to sbynews' tabloid format, I believe publishing them would only increase hits. Joe is a smart cookie to keep them separate from the main site because they will be offensive and dripping with vulgarities.

Will you print the saved negative comments that you have made over the years? If not perhaps I'll open a blog that does just that. I've saved them all for use in court when the need arises.

I would leave it alone for right now. I would continue to keep them for sometime in the future. I don't know if these creeps are worth the space it would take up on another site plus your time.

The only reason to publish them would be if you can positively identify who they are coming from.
But I already know that John Robinson is an ass, and I already don't shop at his "Robinson family of companies," so I guess I'm not sure how much I'd gain from that kind of knowledge, anyway.
I am very sorry that "idiots" stoop so low to attack a person's family who is not involved in the blog. Please don't lower yourself to their level. Keep doing the great job in reporting the facts. Opinions are like "a$$*****" everybody has one. Keep a file for future evidence if needed. Take the high road. (which is very hard to do sometimes because you or your family are being attacked) What goes around comes around.
With the following SBYnews has it may get the attention of some attorneys and other public heads that will take note and may decide now is the time to set an example with the threats. A death threat is a threat whether spoken in person, left on a voice mail, or typed on the internet.

I am 11:11 and I'm not JT or Jannace, but yes I do leave nasty comments here every chance I get and will continue until you are gone. You have wronged me and mine in the past with your lies and I will NEVER let it go. Some day soon you and I will come face to face and your punk ass is going down.
I think it would be in very bad taste to do so. Also, it would be inappropriate for the kids who might want to see them.
I think it's important for SBYNEWS to set the example of what is right and good, and producing the negative evil comments would do nothing but give attention to those who we should give none to.
We already know who says what and to keep going on about it, well it just gets old. Those comments should be filed away in case of any future litigation is warranted.
As a matter of point, it would be much more professional to not even mention them at all, but instead focus on providing the news, factually, and as quickly as possible. The rest is just soap opera stuff and although some might be good for numbers (comments), it really brings down the positive things that SBYNEWS provides.
Joe, this is a wonderful site that provides so much to so many people. Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do!

I say print about a month's worth and what story they were attached to. Then at least we know what you are having to deal with on a daily basis. I know you get tired of the personal attacks and threats on your family. Plus then we will be able to see what stories piss them off more and which ones don't. Then we can also see the pattern that you already see. The only exception might be for example is any nasty comments about Sam Vincent, Page Elmore or Sarah Foxwell family. I wouldn't want to see their families get hurt any more than they already are.

We agree with 1:41. Keep up the good work and I would NOT post anything the $ssholes have to say. Dont give them a voice. Ignore them 100% and maybe they will pick up their toys and go home.

Taste and morality aside joe, you run a site that in spite of your hanging on to some issues like a pit bull, is very is the first place to turn for what's happening locally. Personally, I feel if you spent more time doing what you do well and providing a reliable to-turn-to service and less time on your vendettas with JT, JR, GC,BPT, et al your blog would be an even more powerful asset to the community. Rather spend energy on the negatives, focus on the strengths.

I say no. It's the attention they seek. Don't give them any. Don't post anything they say or even acknowledge a comment. Once they figure out you dont post anything they say they will stop. Have you noticed since you have posted a few they have started to post more? Ignore them and the attention they want. Why even waste one second more on the losers.
I'm with the "NO" voters. i also agree that you should take the high road. don't give them the publicity they are so desperate for. the fact that you even made a post that you are contemplating a site featuring these posts probably has them all excited.
i think that we should all just pretend that "those people" don't exist (at least here in the blog). no names. no initials. no references to them at all.
that being said, continue to keep the comments that you believe (or perhaps know) are from them and perhaps they'll have their day in court.

My advice is to not show the nasty comments. The bad people who wrote them would only get joy in seeing their comments posted. We know you get very mean and nasty posts. That's all we need to know.
I have enjoyed your blog sooo much more since you ceased showing photos such as the ex-mayor's thin shirt and so forth. Your blog is so much more effective without that.
Just keep exposing dark things people do to the harsh light of day. You know, my child gets angry when I call attention to the wrong things she does too. People hate getting caught.
Keep up the good work. You and your family are being lifted up in prayer.

What I would like to see you do is put up a link that we can report things to you or complain and you do a post on it. Can you make that happen?
I say "no". Your site is the only place that I turn to get the news. You do wonderful good in this town for so many people. For the most part your site is very professional, that is, until you feel the need to respond to some of those people from the "other side". So please just keep your blog professional and refrain from commenting on those mean negative personal remarks. I think this will enable you to have an even more positive image. As for as encouraging them just set the 'new' blog so no comments can be left under the post.
So I say if you (Joe) want to do it, go for it and get it out there in the open for those of us that want to see what these scum-bags say on a daily basis can see what you have to put up with, and it may very well make 'things' happen when the right people read it if you know what I mean.

Joe, Show people what a Christian would do. What would Jesus do? Turn the other cheek. By NOT publishings thier rants and threats you in turn are really telling them how insecure and pathetic they are. Please don't lower yourself to thier pathetic lives. They all will have to answer to God one day and I'm sure He won't be happy. Keep those emails/comment in your file in case you NEED them to protect your family. I have learned through my husbands and my business to kill your customers with kindness with a true heart, willing to tell a customer that WE as a professional make mistakes, and we correct our mistakes immidiatley (as humanly possible)and there is NEVER additonial cost to them. We are asble to sleep at night and almost all the time God in turn transforms our customer into dear friends. You Mr. Albera I feel from following your blog are a kind and giving man. Give yourself the satisfaction in walking the the right path and continue your mission of reporting the true news and information we as your followers need from you.
