A Comment Worthy Of A Post

lmclain has left a new comment on your post "Obama Said, "I Would Have Fired BP Chief By Now"":

Democrat or Republican, you cannot escape (nor deny) the fact that Obama has NO EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE. He has no experience at all in dealing with any national or even regional or local catastrophe. These are the FACTS. Now does anyone believe he can, like magic, acquire the ability to lead or coordinate a response to something of this magnitude, which is likely to go down in history perhaps the worst environmental disaster in the world?? Could ANY of you reading this just step into the presidency and deal with all the issues on his plate?? Think about that ----that is what Obama is having to do. WHAT in his background gives him this ability? Oh thats right--- he HIDES, SEALS RECORDS and closes, by executive order, all information concerning his life...HMMMMM.. His "drive-by" Senate expeience was a joke and getting grants for poor folk in Chicago means NOTHING. He still hasn't bothered to visit the Nashville area (unprecedented damages- over a billion dollars worth) and has mismanaged everthing from our national economy to our world leadership position. he seems to think that every problem can be handled like its Chicago politics...I'm not sure if he should be allowed to fire the CEO of a foreign company (THAT is a REAL stretch of presidential power), but he CAN start putting the hammer down on their assests in this country. Bottom line? He has no clue and it is KILLING our country...God help us....

You know what? Yes, I do believe someone like us could step in and do a better job as long as they were willing to take on the responsibility head-on like a die hard leader. Someone like us would have "kicked ass" within 48 hours, not by day 40-something. He waited for someone else to try and fix this problem. As far as who to actually blame for the disaster? This is BP's fault. You mean to tell me, we can send people to the moon and Mars but can not plug a damn leak? President should have been more proactive from the beginning and BP should have had a contingency plan.

Joe..... someone posted this story to their profile on facebook.....

President Barack Obama bluntly defended his administration's response to the undersea gusher fouling the Gulf of Mexico on Monday, telling an interviewer he has met with experts to learn "whose ass to kick"

Hey 1:36...I can appreciate your position, but my point was larger....not only is THIS (the oil gusher) a huge problem, requiring the coordination of dozens of local, state, and federal resources, in a very time critical manner, but Obama also has the national economic crisis (and its STILL a crisis) to handle. In addition, we have a war in Afgansistan, with the Pakistani issue hanging over it, the Middle East, national elections that threaten his power base, the raging immigration debate, terrorism (worldwide and domestic)...these are just a sampling of the things that ALL require his apt attention. I'm very skeptical that ANYONE reading these posts could just "step into that job" and start "kicking ass" with "leadership"...Its not just about leadership, its about the ability to manage multiple tasks, delegate correctly, prioritize (and I'm not taking about which rock star should play at the White house tonight), etc. Juggling these tasks and doing it well actually requires a bit of experience, of which he has none. Maybe anyone of us could manage ONE of those issues, but the President must be able to do them all.. and if he doesn't get it right, some very bad things can happen...and he is failing miserably, mainly due to his complete and utter lack of the aformentioned skills and abilities. Being President is more than photo ops, pie in the sky promises of a "better world", apologetic world tours, and TV interviews with softball questions and vague publicity stunt answers...

I mostly agree with the OP.

But -- can't we trust that he's got a strong team of advisers and cabinet members at his side, to give him the best possible advice? That is also part of being President.

Judging from their performance so far, his "strong team of advisers" are as useless as you know what.

Some of us believe Obama is merely a puppet of the corporate elite.

If so, then his performance must be acknowledged to be exactly as scheduled. In other words, he says and does EXACTLY as he is instructed.

Everything is going as planned.

Isn't that a scary thought?

The Elite have ran this country forever. Why would they destroy the profit that allows them the power. The problem is that he is not of the elite. He is not of the illuminated.

As for Obama not having disaster experience. Does anyone really have disaster experience when you dont know what the next disaster is. Maybe someone really smart wrote a survival book on how to clean up fifty million gallons of oil or maybe one on how to plug a oil geyser on the ocean floor. Are you guys for real. I know that this is going to change the world foever but, so do you. 68% of Americans voted for of shore drilling remember. But even as when the world is in trouble they point fingers and say "IT WAS HIM".

The republican's are just as responsible. Come on, All big oil tycoons are republican. Half of you are just angry parties and you dont even really know how to run your own lives.

5:32...you are also missing the point....we are not talking about "disaster experience", but just "experience" in dealing with many critical issues at one time and being able to MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION...and being able to make decisions (correct ones that will influence not just the nation, but the planet) comes from experience....even having good advisors doesn't mean a the right decision is going to get made...Obama is absolutely and without question, totally lacking a background in executive decsion making....now we expect him to learn on the job??!! And, millions of idiots in this country think thats okay....would you put your life savings in the hands of a man who never had a checking account?? Would you let a person who never had a license drive your tour bus through New York City? Or trust your transmission repair to a newspaper delivery boy?? Essentially, that's what we are doing with our country, our economy, our national security, our international standing and reputation, and our very future. H is a joke, but a very dangerous and not-so-funny one.....
