Audit Finds Serious Flaws At Maryland Elections Board

The State Board of Elections does not do a good job monitoring voter registration and overseeing local election boards, state auditors said in a new report, and the board has serious deficiencies in handling accounts receivable, cash, equipment and payroll, even failing to report a $2 million budget shortfall.

Some of the same problems were found in a 2006 audit, but elections officials still hadn’t properly addressed them, the audit said.

Bruce Myers, the legislature’s chief auditor, called the findings “disappointing” since these were “long-standing issues.”

it's time to get this crap cleaned up. NO EXCUSE !!!!! they also need to clean the voter registration rolls and get all the dead people out. our government needs to get their act together. they are not only spending my hard earned money like there's no tomorrow but they love to "cheat" however they can regarding elections.....

Setting up all the excuses when O'Malley wins again. Love his new commercial quoting Ehrlick on "drill baby drill" and all the money he made working for the oil companies. Yup, just what we need.
