Adult Kickball is First at Bat
(Salisbury, MD) Wicomico Recreation, Parks and Tourism is kicking off a new initiative this summer as it introduces a series of social recreation opportunities for adults eighteen and older. Adult Kickball is the first activity to be introduced and will begin June 2. Registration is currently open and will be accepted through Friday, May 21 at 5:00pm.
Adult Kickball is open to males and females eighteen and older. Play will begin on Wednesday, June 2 and continue through July. All games will be played at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex (711 Naylor Mill Road) in the evenings. The program will conclude with a Round-Robin Tournament and cookout. Since the focus of the program is recreation as opposed to competition, all teams will be invited to take part in the play-offs. Both the winning team and the team demonstrating the most team spirit while donning their uniform will be awarded.
Room is still available for individuals, small groups and whole teams. Individuals and small groups will be formed into teams accordingly. Individual registration is $22 or teams can register for $300. The recommended team size is 12 to 15 players. Players can register at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office, which is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm or online at http://www.wicomicorecandparks.org/.
With the motto, “We don’t care who comes in first, but we do care if you have fun!” the purpose of Adult Kickball and the new Social Recreation program is to create a unique recreational opportunity where participants can meet new people and socialize with family, friends and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. The program offers the perfect opportunity for friends, families, co-workers, congregations, couples and teachers to bond with one another and meet new people.
