School Bus Driver Accused Of Taping Self With 7-Year-Old

A Prince George's County, Md., school bus driver is under arrest on charges of producing child pornography.

Scott Smallwood, 27, of Upper Marlboro, Md., is accused of videotaping himself engaged in sex acts with a 7-year-old boy, News4's John Schriffen.

Smallwood was arrested Friday, but police said the investigation began March 15, when Smallwood allegedly left a camera memory card on the counter of a 7-Eleven on Coventry Way in Clinton. According to court documents, another customer found the microSD card and took it home. The customer viewed the contents of the card and discovered 10 to 15 videos of an adult male engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a little boy.

Whats happening these days? Our children can't even be in safe hands on a school bus?! This is a sick individual. I hope he gets the 15 years, maybe even more.

My stomach is turning over reading this. I have a 6 yr old child and can't imagine something like this happening to her! WTF is wrong w/our society??? I think we need to be more scared of pedophiles than terrorists! Maybe we need some type of homeland pedophile security instead! This man looks like a freak and obviously is! That poor little boy!! He probably was afraid to tell. Thank God this criminal messed up by videotaping it and leaving it on the counter or who knows how long this would go on for and how many other victims there'd be! I hope he gets the death penalty! Praying for this little boy and his family and that justice is served fast and swiftly!

I think if I ever become terminally ill one day I will make it my own personal agenda and mission to seek out as many pedophiles as possible and kill them all w/some vigilante justice then ask God for forgiveness. I am so sick of hearing these stories! I wish people who bomb abortion clinics would redirect their mission to kill pedophiles! We have to do something! This is becoming an epidemic on the shore! Is the problem this bad in other states and other countries? The damn Catholic priests and corrupt boyscout leaders are to blame for much of this problem. The victims many times repeat the cycle! We need to STOP the cycle of abuse now! Our children are doomed!

thank goodness he left the card and got discovered, but I must add, as a parent you should know something's happening to your child.

It really hurts to do this but I'll say my peace anyway.

That boy never did anything to anyone. He is the kindest, most intelligent 7 year old that I know. Scott Smallwood, unworthy of the title mister, was NOT his evening bus driver and was not someone that he only knew from church. The boy saw this person as a role model because Smallwood played a small part in his life. A family friend so to say...you see, these alleged sleepovers, they were mostly during the snowstorms, other children, parents, and just genuine good friends. Maybe the childs mother was just too trusting, however no one ever expected this from Smallwood. He held a leadership role in the church he attended, had a decent job, and seemed to be a good person despite his handicaps. The family is devastated. How could they not be? I know the boy's mother is now undergoing therapy, not only for this situation but also for old wounds reopened. Fortunately the child does not yet show signs of emotional damage, and Dr.'s have said that there was no physical damage, and he too starts counceling this week. The family is still awaiting results from the indictment. According to federal agents, the indictment is very secret, Smallwood will not be in the room.

I apologize for this lengthy comment, but I felt that it was time someone finally put some truth to the story and spoke up for the family.

As a relative of Scott Smallwood, my heart goes out greatly to the child he harmed. No one should ever have to go through what an innocent child was subjected to. My heart hurts for this innocent young man. I would however be remissed if I didn't post what the papers left out. Scott, my brother, was born with fluid on his brain and he suffered brain damage at birth. I have no doubt that his role in this most horrendous crime was caused in post by his brain damage. I don't seek to minimize his actions, because there is no excuse for them. But, I must tell you that a lot has been left out of this. Scott is mentally I'll, was abused himself, and then when it was discovered (in his childhood), the system failed to protect my brother. So, I will end by saying that if we look at ALL factors involved in this it becomes clear that 1. Scott was still wrong, 2. Scott deserves to be punished, 3. Scott is mentally ill, which should have been considered in his sentencing, 4. Scott is in a way a victim as well. 5. The child he harmed however is a victim too and to a greater extent.

I'm not asking you to excuse his behavior, but to remember that we as his family suffer too. One thing I agree with the judge on is where she said that there are no winners here. Both families are suffering.

Hey, listen. I’m his childhood party. The man was my bus driver too. He came to his birthday, this kind of stuff you can’t see happening. Don’t talk about his family like that. Please.
