LOAD OF MARIJUANA FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN WORCESTER CO.
(Pocomoke, MD) – Two Virginia men are in custody today after a Maryland State Police traffic stop in Worcester County last night led to the recovery of 75 pounds of marijuana.
The two men arrested are identified as Darnell L. Kelley, 24, and Modis L. Chandler, 40, both of Newport News, VA. Both men are charged with possession of more than 50 pounds of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana. Both men are incarcerated in the Worcester County Detention Center on $100,000 bond each.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. yesterday, a Maryland state trooper assigned to the Eastern Troop Special Enforcement Team stopped a 2010 Infinity for speeding southbound on Rt. 13 at Old Virginia Road, near Pocomoke. During this contact with the two men in the rental car, the trooper observed indications of criminal activity and requested that a drug dog team respond.
A State Police K-9 team from the Princess Anne Barracks responded and the drug dog gave a positive alert for the presence of drugs in the car. Two duffle bags were found in the trunk. The bags contained 75 pounds of marijuana. Both men were arrested.
Assistance during the subsequent investigation was provided by members of the Worcester County Narcotics Task Force. The investigation is continuing.

Legalize it!!! Save cops' time for real crimes and jail space for real criminals.
Amazing how a Maryland state trooper assigned to the Eastern Troop Special Enforcement Team just happened to stop a 2010 Infinity for speeding at 7pm!!!
Glad he got them though, lmao!!
Ditto 8:23
How stupid do you have to be to speed with 75 lbs of weed in the car. They deserve to be caught.
You would think that somebody with 75lbs of pot in their trunk would want to lower their profile a bit by driving the speed limit?
black men driving a 2010 infinity: probable cause
When will we stop this repeat of prohibition? Move the police resources to real crime.
Shame on you troopers.
Shame on you troopers.
As much as I am a Libertarian and have no problem with the legalization, regulation and taxation of pot, if you speed with 75 pounds or a joint in your car and get caught you deserve it.
Maybe if they would have smoke a little, they wouldn't have been in such a hurry...lol
But seriously, drugs go up and down rt 13 everyday. Great job to the State Police for catching these criminals and keeping these drugs off the street.
Awesome job!!!!!
Great JOB Cpl. Kennard!!!
