Crowd Goes Wild As 'View' Co-Host Touts Norris Column

At least one of the television hosts of ABC's "The View" appears to be a fan of columnist Chuck Norris' weekly commentary.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, co-host of the daytime talk show, quoted Norris' latest column, "Our founders' solutions for illegal immigration," a piece first published on WND.

Speaking about illegal immigration and the new law in Arizona on the May 18 show, Hasselbeck said:

"This whole thing really came about because Arizona is like this little teenage kid who feels like, 'No one did this for me. I'm going to try to do it for myself. I don't feel safe, so I'm going to try to protect myself. The federal government didn't do it, and I'm going to try. The fact of the matter is, Chuck Norris put it really well today if you read his article. He said, 'How are we able to secure the borders in Iraq and Afghanistan, and not secure our own as a government?' What the heck?!"

The audience reacted to her statement with enthusiastic cheers and applause.

"The federal government has miserably failed to produce a viable solution to the illegal immigrant crisis. Amnesty is not the answer. And immigration laws aren't effective if we continue to dodge or ignore them," Norris argued in Part 1 of a two-part series on illegal immigration. "Furthermore, globalization efforts have only confusedsecurity matters, further endangering our borders as well as our national identity – our sovereignty. And the question that keeps coming to my mind is: How is it that we can secure borders in the Middle East, but we can't secure our own?"

Gotta love republican political authority figures: Chuck Norris, Fred Thompson, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin.
Who's next? Sponge Bob seems to be leaning to the right.

Since our nation's Founders didn't establish any immigration laws and we had open borders for the first 100 years of our existence, I don't think our Founders' solution for illegal immigration is to pass draconian laws that impede on a person's freedom to travel or work.

Those conservatives who say they love the Founding Fathers and the Constitution and yet support the Arizona law or restrictive immigration laws either don't know history or have a pretty selective fidelity to our nation's founding principles.

Yeah those borders in Iraq and Afghanistan are air tight. You would imagine if they are going to talk they would try to have more knowledge of things.

Elizabeth Hassle-hack is the resident Republican "view" on The View who ditzes out and gets screechy when she can't debate the others on logic.

10:58 If you're in the country illeagally, you don't have a freedom to travel or work! Illeagal is the key word here.

In a 1790 speech to Congress on naturalization of immigrants, James Madison stated that America should welcome the immigrant who could assimilate, but exclude the immigrant who could not readily incorporate himself into our American society.

If Chuck Norris spent one night guarding the border there would be no more illegal immigrants. If he spent one week guarding the border there would be no more Mexico.

To 12:31, Madison was talking about naturalization, or making immigrants into citizens. There were no restrictions on immigration for our nation's first 100 years. There were conditions put on making those immigrants into citizens, though.

10:58 What you fail to understand is that the immigrants of our nations early years came here to work hard to not only make better lives for themselves, but to also become Americans. The illegal immigrants of today have no respect for Americas laws or way of life. The immigrants of the past made this country great, and the illegal immigrants of today just want to come here and milk the system for all they can while sending all of their money back to that hole they call Mexico.
