Worthy Post
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.? -- Author Unknown

OMG, how so very true. Wise author whoever it is.
Just plain stupid.
I had dinner this past weekend with friends we had not seen in some time. They are retired and highly educated. When the conversation turned (as it always does lately) to what is going on in Washington, the wife said that she thought Obama was a good man and that it was all those Chicago men he surrounds himself with. They were not listening to Obama because he really wants to help this country. My mouth dropped open and I could not believe how her thought process worked that brought her to this conculsion. It is very scarey out there. If this is what our colleges are giving master's degrees for, I think I will stay studpid.
Fools because we didn't vote the way you liked. Ha ha
Maybe if you debate the issues factually instead of spending your time with conspiracy theories of "socialist, muslim, racist, terrorist" people would be persuaded by the merits of your policy stances. Next election do your homework instead of going on witch hunts.
This is 100% correct! Not are we led by a fool, we are surrounded by them!
You know, this health care reform is way bigger than just the U.S. This will have a world-wide effect on health care. I was watching Discovery Health last night and this young family in England had 2 children suffering from a rare muscle contraction disorder. In their efforts to seek help, they sold everything they had to come to the U.S. for specialized surgery. This happens every day! People come here because they know that we are well advanced in our medical technology, innovation and precedures. Over time this healthcare reform is not only going to degrade the overall quality of our healthcare, but hinder our specialized health care as well. Our prestige is going to dwindle and we will no longer be a leader in advanced medical procedure. It so happens to be ironic that the story on Discovery Health last night happened to come from England; a Country that has already gone through a similar healthcare reform. I just goes to show what we are in for!
Americas greatest generation collectively rolled over in their graves after watching this Obama/Reid/Pelosi gang jam health care legislation thru against the will of the American people. Come on November
This is a well said statement. I believe in the american public though and once woken up will not go back to sleep.
One by one as things hit them on a personal level they will begin to see the light. The question is will it be in time to save our great Republic.
Bravo and well said, and very very sad, but true.
this is what we should fear the most. an uneducated electorate voting for people because they promise them a utopia, nanny state. the people the democrates depend on to vote for them have little or no education and certainly don't have a grasp of history and what makes or made America great. i venture to say they've NEVER read the constitution and if they did they probably wouldn't be able to comprehend what they read. sad to say there are probably many who vote and can't read. and of course most don't have any common sense. we must do what we can to change this........
Yes because we would never want the majority to rule in this country...This is the height of stupidity
This was circulated years ago with Bush's name instead of Obama.
If Obama is the prince of the fools, then Bush was the all-time King of the fools. The racists and misogynists of the Republican party, who also claim to be Christian, need to suck it up! Look at the state our Country was in after 8 years of the Bush Administration. You can't blame Obama for anything. He's barely been in office a year!
You leftist idiots should get over it, Bush is not the president anymore. You boy Osama is (for another 34 months) amd he has done more damage in 14 months than Bush did in 8 years.
10:54
Name 3 things that Obama has done to damage the country so far. Educate me.
I'll answer that.
We've had 3 terrorist attacks to date.
He's taken over the auto industry.
He's taking over Wall Street
Need more?
He's raising taxes on EVERYONE in spite of his lying campaign rhetoric.
9:26
that's funny because I think its very scary to know people think the way you do
Ohbama is the true racist. Racism in this country is at a fever pitch. You bands of Black youths attacking seniors in Philly and Jersey. I guess they feel empowered by their new found pride.
He now back peddles and states the police need help things are out of control. Well Mr. O next time a police officer is doing his job. Do not call him out before a nation and attempt to label him a racist. Then have him over for a New Port and a Forty.
Show me the birth certificate.
12:38 They do feel empowered. I was at a grocery store not too long ago and a black woman cut in front of me. I said excuse me I was here first and she said she could do anything she wants now that NObama is president.
Frankly, I think racism in ANY form is wrong and this lady was wrong. So are many others.
I liked this "quote" better the FIRST time I read it in 2004, when the name used was "George W. Bush" instead of the current chief executive.
On the Internet, there is no such thing as a new idea.
11:23,
Actually only one of those is true and still mostly drivel. So Obama has been in office for 1 year. How many deaths from terrorist can be attributed in one year? Now lets go to Bush. He was president for 8 years so divide the number of deaths from terrorist under his watch by 8. Which number is higher? If you can prove he has taken over Wall Street or the Auto Industry with facts I am willing to listen, if not educate yourself. And please prove the raising taxes on everyone.
12:38 and 1:18,
First that story never happened 1:18. Second 12:38 if you still believe in the birth certificate crap you are an idiot. Plain and simple.
1:59
Auto Industry: Obama fired CEO of GM, eliminated Pontiac, Chrysler, and Saturn; closed dealerships around the county regardless of performance and most importantly his administration has targeted Toyota for recalls when GM exceeds Toyota in recalls 5 to 1.
Wall Street: Controlling salaries of the firms who were forced to take bailouts who have since returned them. Pushing the blame of the Recession on Wall Street when the US Government paved the way for these faulty loans from US supported and controlled mortgage institutions Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. New regulations on the banking industry are preventing banks from lending to main street businesses.
Taxes: Obama's new budget calls for 1 Trillion dollars in new tax increases. Some of these may not directly affect you depending on how much you make but they will have trickle down effect to employees, customers, and regulations thus creating a larger deficit which eventually has to be paid off by the American people.
Regarding terrorism Obama is actually doing a good job with Bush's plan but Holder will be making things difficult.
I think your the one who needs the education.
I'm not 1:59 but,
#1 GM needed to shed those brands. Obama didn't make them. There was a reason they were bleeding money you know.
#2 agree that the salaries thing was simple pandering.
#3 mostly conjecture. Actually the argument that "low taxes=higher revenues" is also false. Ex. the Bush tax cuts didn't pay for themselves.
And even with terrorism, you don't want to give the man credit. He's escalated the fight in Afghan., double down on taking the fight across the border to Pakistan, and is freeing up resources from Iraq to where they should have been in the first place (in Afghan. or here at home)
3:05,
Well the government did give GM the largest bail out of automakers. Most of the money lost was because of decisions by the CEO. They borrow that much money we get a say in it, plain and simple.
Same goes for Wall Street. We did not force these companies to make us part of their business. They did that on their own. And since the American people now own a fair share we get a say.
Raising taxes on everyone and raising taxes on the wealthiest is 2 totally different things. You have no idea what the trickle down effect will be.
So to get this, we should have bailed these people out with billions of dollars but not given them any oversight. That is brilliant.
No matter who's side you're on, this is not a democracy. We are a republic. The basic premise IS that the masses are uneducated and unfit to rule. We elect a chosen few that run the country for us.

GM had to be bailed out due to the unions, the amount the US paid to GM is same amount GM owed to the union pension funds. You think Obama is going to say no to unions?
Actually the government imposed mandates to the amount of mortgages that had to be made to lower income people, this lead to creative mortgages that spread like wild fire. Once the mortgages were made they where bundled and sold, this is common but the mortgages were made on people who could not afford them. Most of these banks who traffic'd these loans were under the supervision of TIM GIETHNER.... sound familiar? He runs our economy now.
When taxes are imposed on a business and the person who owns that business will take those taxes and pay for them using the consumer. Do you even know who Adam Smith is?
Political power in the American republic swings like a pendulum. By ingenious design of the founding fathers, the two-party system, and by that our democracy, has endured so long because whenever one party goes to the extreme it creates a backlash which inevitably swings things back the other way over a long period of time. Therefore, we have periods of marked conservatism followed by periods of marked liberalism. The "idiocy" of the voters lamented in this post--the election of a liberal president--was the DIRECT RESULT of George Bush's arrogant, despotic presidency and its trampling of citizens' rights and the constitution--which most of the angry young reactionaries who post here know nothing about. The truth is you actually CAUSED the Obama presidency by keeping the village idiot and his banana republic vice-president in office for 8 long years. So deal with it.
So. You truly believe that McCain would be doing a better job?
If the Republicans had managed to field a better candidate then perhaps we'd be telling a different story right now. As it is the old guy who ADMITTEDLY didn't know squat about economics didn't get elected...instead we chose as our leader a highly educated man with good sense and good intent, who walked into a sh*tstorm and has tried to sort it out. Aside from the (clear and evident) fact that the Republicans have been finding fault since before Day One of his term, i.e. the birther nonsense, for one, Here's a question for you...WHY DOES EVERYONE CONVENIENTLY FORGET THAT ON September 11, 2001 George W. Bush was president?
