An 82-year-old woman was approached by a man in Sierra Vista, Arizona, in a Walmart parking lot when he began to threaten her.
"This is your day," the man told her. "You are too old to be alive anyway."
He then took her cane away and began beating her with it. However, he was unaware that she was carrying her handgun, which she quickly pulled from her purse and began firing at the suspect.
Witnesses nearby were alerted by the gunshots and came to help the elderly woman. The suspect was taken into custody by police shortly afterward. Impending charges include attempted murder.
The courageous woman later told the media, "If I go naturally or to a sickness or something, fine. I'm ready to go, but I'm not ready to let some idiot like that take me out."

I hope we see more of these stories. That is admirable! These thugs will finally get what is coming to them!
Never judge a book by the cover....
Incidents like this will make the "bad guy" think twice. All of a sudden making a living in the traditional way (work) looks more attractive.
I think there should be a government subsidy program to arm the elderly. Think of the stimulus to the economy that would be!

with the way Salisbury is going lately it sure would be nice if we the citizens were able to get coceal to carry permits as easily as states like texas, florida, arizona!! but youll never see it in the communist state of MD!!!!

They have a great deal of momentum in Annapolis going and with the support of all gun owners in MD, there's a chance you'll get that CCW "shall issue" language you want. Talk it up with all your friends and with a grass roots movement you can succeed.
