Church Collapses In Northeast D.C.

A church has collapsed in northeast Washington because of the heavy snow and a tree that fell on its roof.

D.C. Fire & EMS representative Pete Piringer said when the tree fell on the roof of the one-and-a-half story building, the weight of the tree and the snow made it collapse.

Joshua's Temple First Born Church, located at 4318 Sheriff Road NE, was a very small, quaint church with a dedicated following, according to NBC4's Tracee Wilkins, who is familiar with the neighborhood and often saw parishioners lining the street with their cars.

Two weeks ago there was a circa 1924 church that collapsed in Somerset County from high wind. It had been closed for only around 10 years.

So did Peninsula Poultry's Laurel building. Which I guess is karma because five chicken houses that they built for a farmer in Denton also collapsed. Hopefully that farmer will wise up and see Rob Payne and Eastern Shore Poultry.

This is sad. Good thing this didn't happen during church service!

Last night on WBOC they reported a church collapsed here in Salisbury too. They said the building was only 2 years old.
