Media Comments Of First District Race

On the heels of a poll in Maryland’s 1st District showing a commanding lead for Republican congressional candidate Andy Harris, the writing is on the wall for Rep. Frank Kratovil:

“…this list includes the dozen most vulnerable seats in the House…Maryland’s 1st…[Kratovil] has a chance to win another term, but the odds aren’t in his favor.” - Stuart Rothenberg, noted Washington handicapper (Roll Call, 11/30/09)

“Kratovil…could well be the underdog by the time of next November's vote.” - Paul West, political reporter (Baltimore Sun “Maryland Politics,” 11/27/09)

“This is a seat that was going to be very difficult to hold.” - Michael Cain, co-chairman of the political science department at St. Mary's College of Maryland (Capital News Service, 11/26/09)

I agree

Harris is the last best hope for returning jobs to this state

After his vote on the cap-in-trade bill and the backlash that resulted, Kratovil has been getting more conservative. No liberal will ever represent the eastern shore for long. If Kratovil continues his conservative streak he will get my vote. Kratovil knows the liberals will never vote for a republican so he needs to stay conservative to get independent and republican voters.
If he doesn't and gives in to Pelosi, Harris will get my vote. Honestly, I would rather see a conservative republican from the shore win the primary to run against Kratovil. I do not care about the D or R behind their name.

Why take a chance tht Kratovil will "become:more conservative? He has already shown his true colors he is beholden to the Leftist Pelosi machine. You KNOW Harris is a true conservative, why risk being tricked AGAIN like Louise Smith on the city council? And while we are at it we need to vote out those corrupt pigs Mikulski and Cardin and epecially O'Malley.. The Dems are grooming O'Malley for the national stage.
