Everyone should take the time to really LOOK at everyone in the pic. This shows our country as it should be!
While I may not agree with Jesus Christ being depicted as the "god of our father's" it is a moving and beautifully symbolic painting.
We are a nation with strong religious beliefs; unfortunately those who are in public office have long forgotten the "rules". Thank you for a lovely a reminder.

This picture is definitely depicts a thousand words. It takes time to really analyze all the metaphoric individuals.

"Awesome"
"This is a constitutional republic!" You hear this time and again on the rightwing and TeaParty websites. At the Constitutional Convention our Founders had to decide what model of government to use. They chose the "republican" model, not to be confused with the republican party. In a republic, wrote Madison in the Federalist Papers, government's power has a single source: the people. Not God, and not Christ. The people, period. The constitution our Founders drafted and ratified to implement this government was not given to them by Christ as depicted in this painting. It was the product of human minds hard at work because the rest of the voting citizenry had given them the task. Notice that Christ is NOT holding the First Amendment, which prohibits congress from establishing either the religion of Jesus-based Christianity or even the broader God-based religion of monotheism in general.
My compliments to the artist's skill in both painting and political manipulation. However, the Constitution was created by the People, has always belonged to the People, and still belongs to the People. Not Christ, because this is not a theocracy. The people, because this is a constitutional republic.
However, as you can see, some of the people want to own a greater share of the constitution than others, and to justify that appropriation they wrap up their power grab in Jesus robes.
Don't be fooled folks. On that road lies echoes of Hitler's rise or some similar form of fascism.
