KRATOVIL DISREGARDS CONSTITUENTS AND DISREGARDS ETHICS...

KRATOVIL DISREGARDS CONSTITUENTS AND DISREGARDS ETHICS... a true Democrat
Is Kratovil a 'blue dog' in sheep's clothing?????

It seems that Congressman Frank Kratovil has had a rather busy week so far.

On Friday he ducked out of a meeting with Americans For Prosperity after the group had contacted the Congressman of their Friday afternoon visit to his D.C. office. His staff told the disappointed group that the Congressman was in Berlin. I always respect a man of his word and consider integrity the first requirement of any elected offical to receive my vote. It may have been reassuring that Kratovil's fledglings reiterated that the Congressman would not vote for any health care bill he had not read, understood, and that his constituents had at least 48 hours to read on line and offer him feedback. Kudos to AFP for this clarification of Kratovil's stance.

Then Wednesday Congressman Kratovil toed the party line to defeat the Rangel Resolution (# 758). They voted 243-156 to refer to the Ethics Committee a GOP resolution that would have removed Charles Rangel (D-NY) as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee pending outcome of ethics investigation.

The weakening of Democratic support for Rangel came after revelations in August that Rangel had failed to report some $500,000 or more in assets on financial disclosure forms. In July 2008, Rangel responded to news reports alleging ethical shortcomings by requesting an ethics review of omissions in his financial disclosure forms.

Rangel is under scutiny for failing to pay federal taxes on income from rental property in the Dominican Republic and whether his lease of four rent-subsidized apartments in New York amounted to a gift that House rules require to be disclosed.

His use of official letterhead to solicit funds for the Charles B. Rangel School of Public Service at the City University of New York is also being reveiwed.

So folks, it does not seem that Congressman Kratovil was interested in meeting with his constituents on Friday. He stood them up. Kratovil calls himself a 'blue dog Democrat, yet he follow Pelosi's orders to keep tax cheat Rangel in power to make tax policy for YOUR TAXES.
Disregarding constituents and disregarding ethics.

I'd say that Congressman Frank Kratovil will fit right in and is on his way to be a true Democrat!

He has proven more than once that he will vote with Obama and Pelosi everytime when his vote is needed. When you think about it, why wouldn't he, he is after all a democrate by choice and if he hopes to move up within his party he cannot buck them. This is why we need a conservative for our district and I strongly feel that we will come next election.

He's been financed by Pelosi and all the liberal members of Congress, not to mention UNIONS - So where do you think this guy's allegiance lies - Not with us, that's for sure. Can't wait to get rid of him.

MD-01 Indy, I would like to post your comment if you would care to remove the last sentence. Your comments about Joe have nothing to do with the post.

According to AFP Lower Shore chair Julie Brewington and a post on her blog, they DID NOT call ahead to schedule a meeting. The whole point was to surprise (ambush) him, so whoever wrote this post (if it isn't the same person who posted it) is lying when they say "On Friday he ducked out of a meeting with Americans For Prosperity after the group had contacted the Congressman of (sic) their Friday afternoon visit to his D.C. office."

I guess we know who got the surprise, don't we Ghanima?

I don't know about anyone else but, I think it was rather foolish of them or anyone, to go to Capitol Hill and expect to just walk in to anyone's office without an appointment or prior arrangement for a meeting. They got what they should have gotten for not following protocol.

Thanks Ghanima, I agree. I know Frank is always willing to meet with any voter, you just have to ask.

I also forgot to point out the following part of this post which reiterates lies already stated:

"So folks, it does not seem that Congressman Kratovil was interested in meeting with his constituents on Friday. He stood them up."

This is flat out false, unless you are a person who likes to make up their own facts.

In that statement, what stands out to me is it does not seem.

I am understanding the statement being made based on information provided by someone that was there.

This blog is far better off with you at the helm, Ghanima.

There was an article about him being in Berlin to dedicate a waste water treatment plant. So these people's argument isn't thathe doesn't meet with constituents, it is that he didn't meet with the. The people in Berlin had probably invited him instead of barging in on him. Plus, why would a member of Congress be in DC on a friday when there is no official business, they should be out and about in the district.

He is a liberal no matter where he is. This was a well publicized event and I would be surprised if Kratovil didn't know the AFP were coming to Washington. Obama didn't know about 9-12 either as I recall! Talk about liers, the Dems make every one else look like saints.

Exactly.
This was a two day event with a deal of publicity. Friday afternoon was DEDICATED to visting congressional offices of ALL elected officals.
There is NO EXCUSE for Frank Kratovil to not be in his office.
It is the same as Back to School Night and the teachers are absent.

MD Indy,
Are you proofing comments now?
Better take another gander at your quote.

Looks to me that AFP was stood up.
If Frank isn't there to receive constituents that's a blatant disregard of those who elected him.

l2:02, I second that.

Seriously? He is supposed to be in his district on days when they aren't voting. That is his job. Sounds like these people intentionally chose a day when they knew Congress was out of session so they could complian later on. Way to to be part of the problem and not the solution. Not to mention that they admitedly did not make an appointment.
