Doug Devenyns has resigned as head of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections. His resignation takes effect November 6, 2009.
While a press release put out by the office of Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt heaps praise on Devenyns and his service to the county, the DOC has also been embroiled in numerous lawsuits during Devenyns’s tenure. Included in these is a suit filed by Devenyns against Salisbury News publisher Joe Albero.

They need to take a hard long look at the guy who was head of the Work Release Center at the Airport. I believe his name was Lt. Binum....WOW that guy was on the ball.....and ran a tigh tight ship......Great guy fair...
How about Jim Henderson from Somerset County for Warden. It has been said that he has a lot of experience controlling inmates. Just order more tazers and brass knuckles and he will shape up thoes naughty inmates pronto. He would also have a "good working relationship with Davis Ruark" just like he did Kristy Hickman.
