I work on Rt 13 and see that ladder truck heading north on a regular basis. Must have rescue equipment on board.?.
Speaking of bad drivers. But I thought locals were the best drivers??? People around here need to get off the eastern shore more.
It looks like a quint. From my understanding and some wikipedia info they are like a combination between a engine and a ladder. Maybe it is a way to get the tools on the ladder truck they always talk about and the water capacity from an engine without having to bring two rigs to a scene?
Joe do you have anymore information about them?

It's Truck 2, not the $1.2 Million Tower truck, which is a Quint that does five services such as Engine Company and Truck Company operations. A quint is a good choice for limited staffing. With that said the quint is more needed and practical than "Tower 16."
That isnt Juniors. Tower Ladder. That is Truck 2 from station 2 and yes it has cutting tools.
You shouldnt see the tower ladder on the road much. New response districts limit what equipment will respond on certian calls. This should help to reduce the cost of fuel.
Citygoer if people here are worse drivers why is insurance cheaper here? If you dont like it here Im sure there is a city you can move to stop the whining sheeeesh

BTW I'm not whining. Ppl here have a superiority complex for whatever reason. No matter what it is they seem to think they are better and more skilled while everyone else is the worst. What a small sheltered world ppl here live in.
The Tower still responds city wide on all structure fires. Just like it always has..So why will we not see it on the road much?. The thing administration didn't address was the damn volunteers taking 2 pieces to calls in the evening. When we handle it during the day with only 1..
Speaking of Rick Hoppes he spent 30 minutes attacking the blogs at the mandatory meeting on Thursday night. He said it is time to wage war on the blogs and the people who post on them. I don't know which blogger he was talking about but he did slip up and say "Joe's Blog."
I just love how the bible thumpers think that they are "allowed" to hate at will. Whatever happened to love and tolerance of ones fellow man? isn't that in my version of the bible? I think it is.

Why do you think he should leave firemen alone? Why do you think firemen are better than anyone. Corruption is corruption and the owner of this blog does a great job of pointing out corruption everywhere and not just the FARMIN!! Thank you Joe Albero and keep up the good work.
For the 1000th time. Truck 2 is the piece that is assigned to run in sta. 2 dist.on ALL calls during the week 7am to 5pm wuth the Paid crew. Whats so hard to understand here?

Mr. Albero thanks for doing a great job by keeping us informed about the Salisbury Fire Department. Can you or your readers tell us about the status of the search committee and their progress for the selection of the new Fire Chief?
For someone who posts so many pics of SFD apparatus, you think you could notice the major difference in the quints and the tower... the tower has it ladder mounted in the middle of the truck and the quints are rear mount... please at least look at the pic...
Cheaper insurance equates lower risk which equates safer drivers. Not everyone has cheap insurance, here or anywhere else. If you don't like it here or the drivers here, maybe you shouldn't be here.
All you sob's complain about the shore but keep moving your sorry butts here. And bringing your problems here as well.
You ever think some of the bad drivers are 'come-heres'?

Lastword. Im a come here and dont complain about the issues here. Why is there such a hatred towards ppl that move here? Without the increase in population(from us come-heres) many of the modern day conveniences(tons of retail stores, more jobs, more tax revenue etc) wouldnt be doable. I too think local drivers arent the greatest but if someone else complains about something understand that there are different perspectives out there and maybe its you that needs to get out more. Ive found that locals get incredibly offended when you say ANYTHING bad about the area. Relax, if its not true dont get so defensive.
