Sister Cities Association Of Salisbury / Wicomico County


Salisbury Mayor James Ireton, Jr. and the Sister Cities Association of Salisbury / Wicomico County (SCA of SWC) will host a welcome reception for the international students and faculty of Salisbury University (SU) on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 3:45pm, in the Council Chambers, Room 301, of the Government Office Building (125 N. Division Street).

Mayor Ireton will welcome the group and give a brief talk on municipal government, the role of the Mayor and City Council, and the highlights of Salisbury and the Lower Eastern Shore. The Mayor will then answer any questions of the group. A reception will follow, with refreshments provided by the Center for International Education at SU. Photos will be taken at the end of the event.

“I appreciate the Mayor making the international students from SU welcome to the City of Salisbury,” said Dr. George Whitehead, Chair of the SCA of SWC. “This is our second annual reception and exemplifies the commitment of the City to Sister Cities.”
The public is welcome to attend this event.

The mission of the SCA of SWC is to promote international exchange creating lasting friendships through cultural understanding, economic development, and education.

Afterwards, the students will be rounded up for noise violations and have their pictures taken, fined, and released back to their dorms...
