HAS COMEGYS BECOME AN OBAMANISTA?

Do you recall the mantra “share the wealth” from the recent presidential campaign? It’s a favorite phrase of Marxists and a core concept of Barrack Obama. But, would you believe Gary Comegys, too? Here’s why I’m not sure.

The City of Salisbury was recently requested by the firm owned by the family of the president of the Wicomico County Council to refund $2,328.00 that it paid to satisfy liens by the City to cure code violations at 304 Delaware Avenue. The lien fees were paid in order to transfer the property to Cannon, LLLC, which bought it at a tax sale for $7,450.00

The reasons stated in John Cannon’s letter making the request, which the City Council denied at a special meeting this week by unanimous vote, are discussed on this blog at: http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2009/09/wicomico-council-president-wants-refund.html

When the request was discussed at an earlier work session of the City Council, Mr. Comegys suggested that it should be rejected because the Cannons are wealthy. No, I’m not making this up.

The requested refund should be granted or not because of the facts and circumstances pertaining to the property, not because the Cannons are among the wealthiest families in Wicomico County. All persons, rich or poor, are entitled to equal protection under law. And I’m not sure that Comegys really meant what he suggested in light of his longstanding support of landlords and developers and their support of him in the recent City election.

Of course, some leopards can lose their spots. He may want to distance himself from those who have been responsible for his political career. Perhaps he is preparing for another election campaign – maybe for a County Council seat next year. But for now, unless he says otherwise, we should take his position at face value: wealth should be shared among everyone.

To quote E. J. Pipken, “who knew?”

Bubba would be another McCain on the County Council. Both are opposed to any development in the rural areas of the County. As a member of the Planning Commission Comegys has said that he wants all new homes inside the city.

Consider the source of that statement " the Cannons are wealthy". How the hell did Comegy
ever get elected. Sounds like something Shanie would say also.

That home burned during Katrina several years ago and has sat vacant ever since. It has been an eyesore for the citizens and Cannon should be applauded for buying the property for redevelopment. Nobody else is willing to build in this area. Usually the city tears down a home like this hsortly after a fire that severe, but sat back on this one. The city is desperate for any money it can get from a great man like Cannon. Shame on them.

What comes from Comegys' mouth are two things:
1) Those that he's told to say by his puppeteers. He'll say them but he can't back them up with any intelligent discussion, and;
2) Things that he thinks of himself, which demonstrate his scant knowledge of every issue at hand, and are usually presented in "BubbaSpeak": often unintelligible and of a content that gives all an idea of how profoundly limited his intellect is.
How was he voted into office? He cheated and allowed others to cheat for him. Will he be reelected to city council? Not a snowball's chance in Hell. Will he be elected to county council? Not a snowflake's chance in Hell. Everybody's wiser now and won't be taken in again. He can consider his regional political career over in 2011.

Bubba's campaign was and will be run by a man of means and deceit. Anything can happen. Anyone can win an election.

Bubba wants all the homes developed in the city because he is the vice president of his own empire in the city. Might be different in the county if the idiots are stupid enough to vote him in office.

I know it sounds facetious but regardless of all that,he is responsible for all the "baggage" that comes with the property.Sure its great he bought a distressed property but lets be realistic,it is going to become another substandard rental property at best.
