After a day and a half of searching, Philadelphia Police found the body of 9-year-old Madousou Konneh in the Schuykill River Thursday morning.
Madousou was playing with a group of friends Tuesday evening on the banks of the river near 56th Street when a boy playfully pushed her into the water at about 8 p.m.
The little girl could not swim and a strong current pulled her away and she disappeared, despite her 14-year-old sister’s efforts to save her.

my heart goes out to the family!!
So very sad. The loss of a child is a terrible thing.
I see it everyday that kids are allowed to play without the parents watching. I feel very sorry for the family but I hope some people out there will wake up and watch their kids.
Its crazy that they were that close to the river playing in the first place. The poor girl didnt have a chance.
11:12 and Tom, I guess mommy only let you play under her skirt until you were 18. This is an unfortunate accident that could have happened to any number of kids throughout their childhood. Prayers for the family.
Anon 3:20, Id play under your moms skirt. Anyway, people will complain about anything. Complain about kids in the house on the computer all the time or playing outside. It was an accident.
