The City of Salisbury Municipal Lot 35 (next to Port of Salisbury Marina) has transitioned to a Pay-By-Space lot. Two Pay-By-Space machines are located in the lot. Directions for usage are posted on each machine. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, quarters and $1 dollar bills are all modes of payment for the Pay-By-Space machines. The cost per hour is $0.75, and these machines do not offer change. If using a credit card, the minimum charge is $0.75. Enforcement is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except holidays.
Currently, the City is educating parkers on the new Pay-By-Space system. Citations will be issued beginning Monday, August 31, 2009.

And they wonder what killed downtown....... History is supposed to teach us something so we don't continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over..... Now an interesting take now would be, since they are charging for a space, are they promising safety and no damage?
What else is this city going to do to make everyone move?
They will be broke into in a month.
Is that the lot that Brew River leased? If so they might as well not open until 5 PM now. I'll bet there is a meter person in that lot Monday at lunch time.
There is already not much to see in downtown salis. Why put up an extra hurdle for businesses attracting customers.
Brew River owns 20 free spots down there right in front of their building. To be honest I bet the city will yank the meters out after they realize there is little to no traffic down there during the day and probably spent more money on the meter then they will make.
Seems to me that the city of salisbury wants to run all of the local businesses "out of business" I will have to wait till after 5pm to go to brew river. Frank Hanna needs to address this problem. Bad for his business!!!
Two questions: how much did this cost the taxpayers? and how much did it save the city by not having someone there to collect tolls?
