More Vehicle Vandalism

Last night the Sheriff's Office was contacted by residents in the Rustic Acres part of the County. Apparently some kids on bikes were seen and even chased by the WCSO but they were unsuccessful in capturing the suspects.

Just as the State Police had informed everyone the other day, LOCK YOUR DOORS! This is the very last time I'm going to put up a Post about this because quite frankly I do NOT feel sorry for a single individual who leaves their car unlocked with private, valuable items inside.

Many unlocked vehicles were tampered with last night, so if you're missing items, well, now you know why. We're in a recession/depression, HELLO! Use your head Folks, lock your doors, especially at night.

A friend called me yesterday that lives in Kaywood to let me know about the cars being broken into. She heard about it through her neighbors,She said it was NOT in the Daily Times and knowing her i am sure she reads what little there is in it from front to back twice! I let her know that indeed I new because of your blog. Anyway, the point is.... thank you Joe for keeping us informed. OF course, I knew it because this is the first place I take my cup of coffee in the morning for news. Again Thanks.

I don't feel sorry for them either. I don't know why people think that they can just leave there cars unlocked, doors to their homes unlocked...and in some cases leave their windows unshaded at night. Everyone knows that crime is on a rise due to the economy so think before you decided to leave something unsecured next time.

No sympathy huh? You really are heartless. Perhaps they forgot to lock their doors. You never forget? Like you said its a recession. Its hard enough without people stealing from you. Its never your fault when someone steals from you.

Those kids in Rustic Acres more than likely live there, out getting their kicks. It has nothing to do with the economy.

I am so sick and tired of hearing law enforcement officials blame all the crime on the economy. Ray Lewis didn't steal a half million dollars worth of stuff because of the economy, he did it because he could.

The rise in crime is mostly due to population growth and partly due to the present economy. Thieves are going to steal in the best of economies. Junkies are going to steal in the best of economies.

The rise in crime in the city is due to many factors. Single family neighborhoods being transformed into ghettos and transient rental properties is a huge contributing factor. Lack of law enforcement is a huge factor. Gangs and drugs go hand in hand. The city is rampant with both. The gangs and drugs were here before the economy went south.

Quit blaming the economy. Demand you get what your tax dollars are supposed to be paying for, POLICING.

hummmmm, that's Judge R.Scott Davis' neighborhood if I'm not mistaken. They better hope they don't get caught

fire the salisbury chief of police. I bet it was him.

Maybe if a shotgun blast from a homeowners bedroom window were expected by a criminal and accepted by our legal system we would not have such brazen crimal activity. Take me back to the days when stealing a man's horse earned you the gallows. Call me a savage, but it would work.

9:54 Rustic Acres is in the county not the city. Nice try.

In Rustic acres its a bunch of kids.

Probably the same kids that were doing all the graffetti,(spl) a while back.

I'm sick and tired of everybody blaming the people who forgot to lock their doors! YOUR BLAMING THE VICTIM!!! THATS WRONG!!! YOU BLAME CRIMINALS NOT VICTIMS. GET IT??? was it wrong to not lock your door?? absolutely, but get over-mistakes happen. besides-none of you can look me in the eye and say you never left your car unlocked. IF you do, your a bald faced liar. Also,I do lock my doors-but guess what? it didn't stop them from throwing a cinder block through the window and rummaging through the car- thats far more expensive than leaving it unlocked and they get a few bucks-big deal. so get it over it,all the perfect people out there who never make a mistake and lock their doors. QUIT BLAMING THE VICTIM!!!!

10:09 AM, in that case maybe we should fire Mike Lewis, what do you think?

Anonymous said...

10:24 very funny. You and your crew would love to see Mike Lewis out of his ELECTED office/position. Mike Lewis will be the Sheriff in Wicomico County as long as he wants to hold that seat. It will take a lot more than people like the green blogger and chief Webster to oust him. Webster won't cooperate with Lewis because he knows Lewis won't play his game.

These kids live in that neighborhood is my guess. Rustic Acres is not like living in one of those developments off of Nanticoke Road. You don't just drive by Rustic Acres and decide to vandalize the neighborhood.

Yeah... cause slim jims or breaking out the glass still won't be done... if someone wants something, a locked door won't stop them!

Anonymous said...

He is not blaming the victim simply staing he doesn't feel sorry for them. Had the "victim" locked their doors they more than likely wouldn't have been a victim.....get it?????

A locked door will NOT stop a real determined crook.

Bluto, while I agree with you, these cases are different.

They are kids, (based on descriptions) who are only going after unlocked vehicles. There have been no reports of any vehicles brooken into, no windows broken, things along that line.

People simply need to lock their doors and it should be fine.

It's a crime of opportunity.

Don't give criminals the opportunity.

But don't blame the victims, either.

Everyone forgets from time to time.

My sister locks everything, day and night, home or not. The one night she thought she locked her car, she didn't. It got robbed along with others.

Police who steal suck.

Police chiefs who spend their time and our money going after political people for crimes not committed while people get shot and killed also suck.

Hey- 10:56 you obviously don't "get it" I've had my vehicle locked and these door flippers still threw a cinder block through it. Get it ???? They steal because there is something they want-not because the door is unlocked. Got it???????????

Joe with all due respect, you'd be all over Webster's hind parts if this were within the City of Salisbury. My point is, Crime is everywhere. It's nobody's fault, it's a sad sign of the times were in. This isn't Mike Lewis' fault no more than stuff happening in Salisbury is Websters.

anonymous 2:26, you're absolutely WRONG!

Start showing me where crime isn't tackled within the County.

Anitra Pyrkle murder case, SOLVED!

Prostitute decomposed in an Industrial Park, Cold Case.

Man shot and killed at Shell Gas Station, Cold Case.

5 people shot at Pemberton Apts, Cold Case.

Shall I go on???????????????

Chief Webster, IDIOT.

No, we get the picture.

Anonymous said...

a tractor battery and a few well placed wires would stop all that foolish car touching!

Chimera said...

He's got you there 2:26.didnt the daughter of one murder victim in Salisbury pretty much have to solve the crime herself?

So...I guess it was the "Rustic Acres Gang" that was breaking into the cars at Trace Hollow, Mt. Hermon Road, and the other neighborhoods that were hit??? One of the Rustic Acres kids found one the suspects hiding in a ditch in the neighborhood. Was told to "hold on" while they "finish the reports." Can you imagine...the bad guy didn't wait for the officer!
