Something To Ponder Over

Ed McMahon died last week. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the CA Air National Guard.

Farrah Fawcett died last week after a long career in Hollywood as an actress. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek treatment. She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.

Michael Jackson died last week. He was perhaps one of the greatest singers of modern time. He will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and costumes. He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.

QUESTION 1- Which of the above did the House of Representatives declare a moment of silence for? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

QUESTION 2- Which of the above's family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

Now you know what kind of leaders it takes to honor a pervert.

Yes, Joe, there definatly something amiss with what you point out. I think making some kind of icon or idol of Jackson is way over the top. This guy was a freak in my way of thinking, far from being an idol. My oppologies to the blacks who think otherwise and are also entitled to their oppinions, like me.

With all due respect to Fawcett and McMahon, the accomplishments of Michael Jackson far outweigh both. If you are trying to insuate that the United States Congress supports pedophilia, you are just a moron. Why is it necessary to keep harping on this?

Joe,
You forgot about Carl Maulden.
Carl was a great actor who played in many WW2 movies.
A great actor and he was almost ignored.
Shamefull!

I think it is disgusting who the masses will worship. What does that say about our country? We worship a freak show and ignore the decent people.

yea, that also goes to show how the prez don't care for our men and women who fight for our freedom. General Ed Mcmahon Was one of the best pilots out there Semper Fi Marine!

And of course somebody has to blame this on the President.

Way to be edumacated there buddy.

5:20:

What exactly is being "blamed on the president?" Not the deaths of any of these three. No, it's the sending of a personalized note, BY THE PRESIDENT. To whom should this be attributed?

Way to be educated there, buddy.

Lets not forget that McMahon spent years pushing deceptive advertising, trying to convince older people that they were on the verge of winning 10 million in the publishers clearing house sweepstakes. Hell should have a really hot place for those who actively seek to decieve and prey on the elderly!

and which of the two answers to these questions surprises me? Considering the ignorance of our society and the clowns we elect, neither. BTW, 2:29, you're an idiot for daring to compare the achievements of a man who risked his life for this country to a warped, insecure criminal who, BTW, raped children. Yea, I sign my name. Farrah and Ed were white, the one thing that MJ really wanted!

Anonymous said...

Black, white, green it doesn't matter. MJ's actions were despicable and should not be overlooked because he sold gold records.

its a shame that MJ died. But its also a shame that because of his death the other Americans who passed that week and the week after did not receive their credit as it was due. Yea I'm speaking about Ed. Farrah, Billy, but mainly about the SOLDIERS who died making sure you pompus arrogant A%%$0L#% had your freedom and the chance to worship such a media whore being in and out of the media whether it was good or bad.

PREZ NOBAMA YOU DISGUST ME!

MJ did alot more in life than Ed and Farrah. And as for him being black... if you listen to alot of his music he wanted people to be treated equal... its sad that its 2009 and people still look at the color of your skin. Who cares what color you are!!! We were all made the same, its just skin! I hope one day this world would really stop looking at the color of someones skin and respect each other. Mj was amazing and those who only see bad in someone I feel sorry for you. It must suck living that way. I always look at the good in a person, everyone is just human we all make mistakes and as far as MJ and those boys, you were not there so how can you say anything did truly happen. I don't think MJ did anything to any boy and I'm sticking to that! RIP MJ, Farrah and Ed

9:32 you are absolutely correct about the color of skin, it should not mean anything, but......where on earth did you get your rose colored glasses. Why do you think he gave them "Jesus Juice"?

Members of Congress should be focused on what is wrong with this COUNTRY and how to fix it instead of who died and how to have a moment of silence or send a letter in remembrance of!
Congressional Members:
YOU ARE NOT THERE TO DO THESE THINGS!
YOU ARE THERE TO REPRESENT ALL OF US CITIZENS, NOT ONE PERSON!
I hope a bunch of people remember times like this when the next elections roll around and get rid of these people who have no desire to do the job they were elected to do!

Why is it such a problem for him to do what he feels he wants to do? He's a grown man not your dads. You can't compare Carl Maulden to Michael Jackson. In all reality get real, yea he may have been an actor but come on, WW2 movies? And anyone talking this military marines crap should go out their since your so quick to back them (And if you've been to war go back, see if you still like it). Half the people there want to come home or are getting screwed, so all this America the great B.S. is just a waste of time. Why when a black person gets singled out for honors everyone wants to come down on that person crushing their feelings? As if black people haven't had it hard enough. It seems like this is a race thing and if so people should be ashamed. You can build all these new and highly advanced items yet hold on to such a poor weak thing as races. America has been established for YEARS now and people still can't figure out that it's more than just white people who walk this continent. Hell the white folks brought black people here, took the land from the indians and mexicans and expect for them to be the only ones here. As far as I'm concerned we as in black people built america. From the pencil sharpener to the buildings in Washington. I pray that we could see the day that silent racism is gone, because a story like this and such foul words said because of the president's actions only display white people's true colors and beliefs, pure ignorance a.k.a. niggerisms. Yes the words you labeled blacks with is diplayed by a majority of whites DAILY. I tell you what, the mind state of white men and women and children thinking they are superior to all other races and nations is going to be their downfall. Mark my words. I love all races but mark my words. "America bless GOD"

Ok at least try to make his story sound like he was a human being. You put Ed McMahon (God rest his soul), Farrah Fawcett ( God Rest her soul) on a pedastool (as which was expected of you) then get mad when someone gives him the credited (that if he didn't stand up for no one would have) he deserved?. Yes I'm glad the most notorable man in America said something because I garuntee Bush, Reagan, Nixon, and Clinton wouldn't have (well maybe Clinton). Get over yourselves your.... really not..... that.......... superior.
