CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities say a 44-year-old Cambridge woman is facing child abuse and related charges after giving birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet and then abandoning her.
On Monday at around 9:39 a.m., Cambridge police officers and Cambridge EMS responded to Long Wharf Park for a 911 call regarding a childbirth incident.
According to police, officers learned that 44-year-old Candy Michelle Vigneri gave birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet located on the east side of Long Wharf Park. Police say that after giving birth, Vigneri left the infant in the portable toilet. A short time later a witness arrived in the area and was able to dial for emergency assistance. Both Vigneri and the infant were transported by ambulance to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The infant is listed in stable condition and will be released to the custody of Social Services, according to police.

What the heck is wrong with people? So many people who WANT to have a baby can't and so many people that shouldn't be or don't want to have children are...

God that's awful. Wish I could adopt the little girl. I can't have children of my own and to think this crazy psycho witch just did this. I hope somebody in jail holds her head in sh!! and keep pulling her head in and out of it. I'm praying for the little girl.

What kind of person just leaves a helpless newborn like that?Someone who doesnt deserve to breathe the same air as us.Even if she did not want the baby,she could have delivered in a hospital and then left her there so she could be safe and cared for.Thank God it was a time of year when alot of people are out on the wharf and someone did something about it.
In my opinion, part of her punishment should be sterilization. I know she is 44 but she should never have the opportunity to get pregnant again! I guess she had never heard of the Safe Haven laws!!
We have a law in the country that would have allowed her to leave the baby at a fire department, Police Station, or Hospital no questions asked and she could have walked away, but nooooooooooooooo. She tries to basically kill the baby in a port-a-potty...this should be a death penalty case. The poor child had no choice...she had plenty.
Only in America. How the heck is it child abuse to throw a newborn baby down a port o potty. How many people think if you throw a newborn baby down a hole into human waste they will simply get bruised. Now how many believe odds are it will die. This is attempted murder plain and simple. And I am sorry the woman is not fat enough to not know she was pregnant. If she didn't know it is because she was wacked out on drugs for 9 months. On a different note but one that shows the idiocy of our laws. How many find it rediculous that Madoff got 150 yrs. for taking money from rich people who were greedily trying to get more. Yet we are forced to live next door to convicted murderers and child rapists. Only in America.
PErsonally I think this woman should be held on attempted murder. That baby drew a breath and is a human being, and she tried to Kill it!! I can't believe they are only holding her on Abuse!
Last I checked... child birth was a rather lengthy and painful process. Did no one thing to call 911 while this woman was screaming in the porta potty for 20+ minutes.
Shouldn't this be considered murder, not child abuse? She could have saved that baby and chose not to. That is murder.

This was a completely heartless act on her part. This woman deserves many years in prison and some mental counseling. Maybe, just maybe she can find some spirituality and get her life on the right track. I pray that this baby survives and grows into a well rounded individual. Who knows, maybe this baby will be someone special someday.
Stories like this once again illustrate the need for birth control. The dumbass Right to Be Barefoot and Pregnant people are f-ing clueless. With laws restricting womens' right to birth control, we have been seeing more and more of this crap happening. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I say let this woman go FREE..that's right FREE...Question...How come they want to charge this woman when everyday in America, abortion kills our unborn children.......if not let her got free then arrest the abortionist for murder!
